Hi there awesome vid! For 1:30, did you have one lens completely facing you (Front and back) or one lens Up and the other down?

The camera is sitting on a small tripod close to the ground so the stitch line is straight up and down. One lens is pointing in the direction that I'm running from at the beginning of the video and the other lens is pointed in the direction that I am in at the end of the clip.

I have a love-hate relationship with my 360 camera. I love it because it’s awesome. Everything you can do with it is unbelievable. I don’t like it because everything you can do with it takes a long time. You have to have patience when editing your footage. Next to a regular camera I can point and shoot get the clip I need and just put it into my editing program. With this camera, I have to put it into my editing camera after editing from its own camera program. The only thing I dislike about 360 videos is you have to do double the work in order to use it. In order to use it. You have to do double the work.expressing what angles you need to show, then re-exporting that video clip. It’s just too much work. I rarely use my 360 camera X2, because it’s just a lot of work. Anyway. Love your videos. Keep up the good work. The only thing stopping me from getting this is I am really loving the ace pro. And that might be my next camera.

I’ve done hardly any video editing, but I’m thinking about getting the X4 for a month-long moto-camping trip on the coast and interior of California and Oregon on a new bike that I recently got. Your comment reminds me of how much of a learning curve and more importantly how much time there will be involved. I’ve been getting so much other gear for this bike in anticipation of my trip next month in June that I haven’t spent any time other than looking at some videos like this one. But there are lots of Insta tutorials, and I bet there are good courses to take. I’ve been holding off on purchasing the motorcycle X4 bundle because it’s well over 700 bucks, and I was looking for at least some kind of discount, but that doesn’t seem like it’s gonna materialize for me before my trip. It’s a lot of money, and I’m definitely feeling that love-hate sensation already, even before I have it. On the other hand, Creatively editing shots over Twin Peaks in San Francisco and the Golden Gate bridge and the east side of the Sierra is like Bodie Ghost Town and Mono Lake and the Sierras… I kind of really wanna keep some footage for posterity and to show around. I think this is the platonic ideal of a “first world problem“.

Main reason i sold mine to be fair, its double the work. I had an x2 but i don’t know if the x4 is worth it. I have x2 Osmo actions and a dji osmo pocket 3. Would i need this, is my question to my self?

Just got my X4 last week haven't taken it out of the box yet as I'm waiting for my motorcycle kit, lens protection and action stick to arrive on Monday. First 360 camera, so looking forward to the creative potential.

Hi Luke. Great video. Do you know why X4 can not animate the 360 photos. My downloaded 360 photos that I took from X2 can still animate it to video. Only 360 photos taken with X4 don't have this option.

How big are the biggest files you got from the X4? i would like to run it with a powered selfiestick for up to 4 hours roadtrip with the gps data in 1 file instead of many 30min, like on my X3. Tnx.

Wondering cropping is called change of focal length?

Well, even back in chemical photography, what was the effect of changing the focal length, if not cropping the field of view. You have to think spherical. Cropping the 360 image reduces the viewing angle, which is directly related to the focal length. 24mm equals around 90° or a quarter of a 360 image. It's all related 😉

I made this video to show lots of shots that were actually filmed on the Insta360 x4 You can judge for yourself whether you think those shots look cool and if it would be worth buying the camera to get some similar shots for yourself.
