+lucky what does him producing an album at 17 have to do with him being the next Pharrell? Pharrell wasn't doing thT at 17. Also, His production is more similar to Mac Demarco than Pharrell. There's also ton of executive producers out there. To say Steve Lacy is like Pharrell is offensive to both parties because they're there own people with their own personality and styles. Not one is like the other. Now if you're saying that because they LOOK similar (which is what a lot of people say) then I get it.

I don't agree with him; those are just what people say who have the same viewpoint. As a massive Pharrell fan feel he has a hell of a long way to go before he's even considered to be at his level. I do hear the mac demarco comparison. But Steve is definitely on the right track to being a great.

I'm trying to say steve lacy has the potential to be a great is all. He is an artist who doesn't have an amazing singing voice but makes up for it with amazing production. Also, when i say next generation doesn't mean i want him to emulate pharrells style. What i am saying is what pharrell did for music is what i can see steve lacy doing for the new generation at the momentum he's going in.

Extremely dope. They are humble because of their parents. Syd and Chris' moms in particular I know personally are VERY REAL and down to earth. And all the members they treat like their own children. I think its a HUGE part of their successes collectively and individually...that humble core.

That album was fire; and exactly right when they said they wanted to catch the audiences attention immediately. 'Now she wants to fuck me.. live a life of luxury.. models in my money trees. such beautiful company.' The first couple of bars kept me interested enough for me to continue listening. 50 cent said it best, 'You have 10 seconds to catch the listeners attention.' The digital age crams listeners with unlimited new music and there's so much bad music out there that it's hard to give anything your attention without a grappling set of lines or productions.

Well said, I took an interest with this group when I heard Girl on the radio. Then I actually downloaded their album (I usually buy CDs) I had make sure they were real, I played Ego Death I was sold. The next album Hive Mind I made sure I brought I went to Amazon and purchased solo projects and the rest of Internet albums.
