We were so lucky to have watched this at its first airing. My baby daughter in my arms, feeding her the bed time bottle, this song came on. It instantly captured us.. My daughter stopped feeding, she was mesmerised. We we're absolutely glued into every single note. Her first happy tears came from her baby eyes as she smiled her biggest smile upto that date. This song right here, this version was played every day and at every bedtime, she would not sleep without it. To this day when I put it on she stops and soaks it in. This song always has a place in our home, so grateful to Lisa and loah for producing such an elegant and beautiful performance!!

You can get away with a 58 on an alto... once you get up into the upper register, you're just making trouble for yourself, but down where she was you're fine. Today I listened to her live album. It also brought tears to my eyes, but they were running down my face as I watched this. It's ironic, seeing as how they both look so happy in this video. @@guitar864 name 3 songs that play with mixing minor and major tonalities (meaning on the same key center of course) in both the melody and harmony like this! I disagree with you categorically. This song is a delicate and powerful beautiful puzzle of creativity and technical innovation - I dare say their joyful giggles at the end reflect the sense of having discovered and captured something so special and outside of songwriting in almost any genre. Does jazz change keys and flip major and minor? Sure, but not quite like this that I have ever heard. Does blues slide between major and minor? Yeah but again in a very specific and now derivative way..... this ain’t that. Find a single pop song or folk song that covers similar harmonic ground if you can and let us know.

@@JAYDUBYAH29 You're just demonstrating a complete ignorance to music theory. She is singing a run within the Aeolian scale finishing on the Major 3rd - what the hell is ground breaking about that? Nothing. That is in, quite literally, almost every blues song you've ever heard. This Pedal Point, Minor to Major modulation is exceedingly basic and has been used since the 1700s - it's literally laughable that you pose new ground has been broken. They've used it to great effect, but it's nothing special. Do some research on Pedal Point - this is as basic as it gets kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIW5kn-PjrmDfLs
