I think the improved availability of the Unity and Unreal engines drove, and still drive, the independent game movement as much or more than Steam and Humble Bundle. I think the openness of Steam and Humble Bundle to independents came about when there were more to make available.

This is a gorgeous game and the world and culture it's set in are fascinating, I'm really looking forward to seeing you play more of it.

Kind of like a mix between ancient and science fiction.

I like how Hilal tells you about his love for jumping into chasms. Wonder how he got that leg of his broken.

About the style - the artist Moebius makes his comics in a similar style.

Yep, and the Nausicaa movie (which was also influenced by Moebius!)

It's very much influenced by the comic artist/illustrator Moebius. Which is not a bad thing at all.

I started this today and killed 5 hours easy. Such a beautiful game in my opinion, and super relaxing and calming. Reaaaaalllly hope you make a full series of this 😁

Gonna try! I might cut out a lot of travel times through the empty waste to keep the series shorter, but I can't comfortably call myself Wanderbot if I'm going to pass up on a game specifically focused on wandering around.

It'd be really convenient if we had video game inventory. No more worrying about weight or space, you just pick it up and put it into the void for later.

Why does it remind me of adventure time

You're totally right for some reason it kinda does give off the same vibe in a way. Thinking it over while writing this, I think it has to do with the discovery and travelling to new and interesting places they did in a lot of the earlier parts of Adventure Time.

There's also a certain peaceful coexistence with the post-apocalypse in both as well. You can tell the world isn't what it used to be, and that the people have managed to not only make peace with it, but even thrive.

Wanderbot:"I would love to just be able to flout wouldn't trust it for long distances. I would climb a mountain then flout down." Wander flouting down a mountain would be long distance or did you mean hill?

The particular art style reminds me most of (other than thatgamecompany of course) Siames music videos, especially the song Mr Fear. If you like this very particular colour and style I'd recommend checking them out. Also that puzzle game from a more recent video, Chants of Sennaar

Gonna agree. The point of *not* making a 60 FPS UHD game is that in the push for maximum framerates and HD graphics, actual gameplay is forgotten. When the devs forego the graphics crunch, the game has to actually stand on the merit of its game elements.

I've had my eye on this game for a while, but I'm a little worried it won't be able to run on my laptop. It reminds me of something like the Pathless, which strangely enough ran fine and still looked gorgeous.

You could always get it, play for a bit, and if it doesn't run well you can return it. It's what I do if I'm uncertain about a game.

42:00 ish as a game video essayist I watch has mentioned sable is a game where you find your own fun once your past the tutorial you really do have the freedom to go anywhere and to finish the game at any time you want it's basically the game version of not caring about the destination because getting there is the worthier part
@firedirewolf
@firedirewolf 3 жыл бұрын
in all honesty, the older you got the lighter you felt, keep from having the aching knees, though the destination of corpses begins to make me curious when going with that methodology... but zombies would be an aerial hazard then lol

I love the frame-rate style! On some games (like Trek to Yomi) I cap my frame-rate at 24 fps to make it look like a movie.
