That elevator would have rang right away once the lantern went out if the button was pushed again. You don't have to wait for the doors to completely close for it to ring. But it only works when the lantern extinguishes when the doors close.

Are these elevators hidden in the lobby at Mandalay Bay? How do they keep regular Mandalay Bay guests from using the 4 Seasons elevator if they are located within their grasp on the floor level of the lobby?
