They're the perfect punk band. They even play too well for a punk band lol I mean, the songs are very complex. Lots of rythm and tempo changes. They are absolutely insane! Love it!
@ChillDfect4 ай бұрын
Well, Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, even Minor Threat would count as musically-complex punk bands. I don't know about the wild tempo changes, though. I can't think of many "bands" of any style who even dare to attempt it. Bands might switch to half-time or 3/4 time, or play in an odd time signature, or switch between swing and march, but wild tempo changes like that? Even jazz cats are not particularly known for going there (many might even find it distasteful). I think Nuclear Assault did some tempo-changing tricks on one of their songs, (or maybe it was Vio-lence LOL), but that was basically a riff played repeatedly at a tempo increasing by a notch with each bar. But that's a standard exercise in the higher skill levels. Drummers can get used to knowing what various tempos feel like in a general sense, but it takes a LOT of discipline and serious practice. I'm sure there are other examples, but how many musicians can do it with no count-in? Amazing.
