What’s your criteria for being authentic? Also, is it on a spectrum or is it binary? Lastly, are you sure you’re not projecting authenticity onto this band solely because you’re thirsting for it and/or it makes you feel good as opposed to it actually existing? Im asking these questions because It just seems like every other person on social media is an expert when it comes to authenticity/genuineness. No disrespect
@Mikaci_the_Grand_Duke8 ай бұрын
@waynedexter If you asked me, I agreed that it's authentic because this music has most of the characteristics that I think "oldschool" punk music has, and the performance is also similar. This comes from my experience (I'm not that young anymore), but I'm not an expert at all. I'm just a casual punk listener, but I've also learned a thing or two from my friends, who are much more knowledgeable about punk music and culture.

You might think rock was dead if you only listened to the radio or watched TV.. I was just thinking to myself today how I'm almost overwhelmed with the amount of amazing bands that I've been hearing lately.. music is in a truly incredible place right now. From bands like All them witches, King buffalo, QOTSA still touring and releasing great music, to the plethora of incredible artists coming out of my home of Australia right now such as King gizzard, Murlocs, ORB, Mt mountain, Brown spirits, Pond, hiatus kaiyote, Mildlife, surprise chef, karate boogaloo, Gum, Glass beams.. The list goes on and on.. I couldn't be more appreciate for all the artists we have giving us all this great music, there's definitely thousands more that I could've mentioned (Minami Deutsch, Hermanos Gutierrez, puscifer, tinariwen, Khruangbin, the smile) it literally goes on and on and on

as billyhughes9776 mention...yes they are 'rods' or 'hot rods'.They are small diameter wood dowels taped together (usually up to almost 20 dowels). Drummers use them for acoustic sessions,jazz,or any live playing that requires less volume. The hot rods produce less volume than a regular drumstick. The only real downsized using them in a more viscious style of playing is they start breaking apart rather quickly. Before long those thin dowels chop away and start breaking and flying off. You end up after a gig sometimes with just a few of the dowels left on the stick.
