oTranscribe Tutorial: How to Use FREE Transcription Software and Voice to Text to Transcribe Audio

I'll show you how to use oTranscribe to transcribe audio faster and more accurately in a four-step process. In the first step, you'll learn how to upload your audio or video file to oTranscribe or just use a link from KZbin. I'll teach you how to adjust keyboard shortcuts to transcribe faster and how to export your transcription file. In the second step, you'll learn how to use a free voice to text extension directly into oTranscribe to save you time while typing.
This process makes it much easier to transcribe audio or video to text instead of having to switch back and forth from your media player to your text editor.
In the third step, we'll use the free version of Grammarly to edit our transcript and correct any punctuation errors.
Finally, we'll strip formatting so it's easy to copy and paste our text without any issues into the transcription platform or text editor of your choice.

I use a little freeware called Hovtext, which automatically strips all formatting from text as soon as it is copied to clipboard. This saves time and labour of first pasting it into notepad and copying again to paste it somewhere else.

Another method to strip the formatting is to paste it in the windows search bar: Press windows key, CTRL+V And then just copy the text from the search bar to whenever you need.

Nice idea in theory but I can't get it to work no matter what browser of file type I use. I get as far as loading in the sound file, click on the page, press Escape, the sound file starts playing - and nothing happens.

Thanks - this is really helpful but I have a question. A client I am typing for has a Word Template with a table in, is there any way of typing directly into this via OTranscribe, or am I stuck cutting and pasting all the time (which of course is not practical!)? Cannot seem to find an answer anywhere. For info their template is just the initials of meeting attendees in one column, and the speech in the other column, so if you can think of a way to do this easily in OTranscribe (maybe initials in bold, and then tab across for the main speech?)
