@@hiempsaloezalcesen4174 that's almost exactly what I went through! i could have sworn the "mistakes" I made should have been marginal and shouldn't have made a difference. Something that I think might have been the issue in the last audio is lots of run on sentences by the speaker. Am I supposed to clean up the grammar? I read that I’m supposed to just transcribe what I hear in the way its said. So I’m not sure how to improve that last one. 🤔
@morganfaye93
@morganfaye93 2 жыл бұрын
There were also a lot of interruptions by the other speaker but I could usually hear the entire thought. If someone interrupts someone, but then they respond instead of finish their thought, how do you transcribe that? Example: I would really like to get the- Groceries? Yes, groceries! (Or is it: -yes, groceries!)?

Thank you for providing this instruction. I have a question. At about 4:04, you're indicating that no punctuation should appear after the last word because it is possible that the sentence actually continues. But if the sentence continues, that COULD make the sentence more than 10 words in length, which would then require a comma after 'suit' in order to connect two independent clauses connected by a conjunction. So it seems like we're assuming the sentence continues but, at the same time, assuming it remains under 11 words in length. Again, thank you for your very helpful videos!
@mitchellleeengel7967

Math Equations Use numerals for math equations, but fractions are still spelled out. Also, spell out math symbols as spoken, e.g., plus, minus, divided by, or negative. ● One-half times 4 minus 4 equals negative 2. ● It's 3 to the 3rd power.

I think those rules of "starting with lower case, and never ending the file with a full stop" have been removed as I don't see them in the latest guideline.

Hi Jennifer Thank you for your excellent videos. I am preparing for the exam and have a few questions to ask of you. When you did the audio parts in the exam, were they all in CV (clean verbatim) style? Also, were they all in American English? I know this is the default for Transcribeme transcriptions. I'm just not one for surprises!

I just took the exam and apparently failed woofly in my first try. Quick question please. Is it right to break off a monologue into a new paragraph?

i genuinely believe the school bus audio is the most challenging. it has far too many sentences that need connecting via special punctuations like colons, semi colons and dashes. hard to know the difference between them sometimes

Hi, thank you so much for the tips they really cleared a lot up. can I ask you to clear for me a few other things for me please this job means a lot.... 1. Do I have to use paragraphs to separate the different speakers, or just begin the next speaker on the next following line... or like do I begin a new speaker on a new line or new paragraph? 2 Can you please edit this small snipet with a crutch word for me its really the tricky ones and I really don't know if I should transcribe the crutch word here or leave it out. Because it makes more sense with the crutch word, (crutch word = Yeah) this is two speakers line1 speaker 1 line 2 speaker 2 line 3 speaker 3.. please tell me if you need more context I can delete it afterwards some of which are completely artificial; they were made up by people who had crazy ideas about language. And there are given names you've never heard of before. Yeah, the reason why you have to teach them is because they are not the person's language. Nobody--

Hi, I have a question. Do the Grammarly scores like overall score, readability, etc. affect the test scores on Transcribeme? Thank you!
