I very often, also with the smash, miss the sweetspot on my racket. I think a lot of this has to do with what you said: looking at the ball not at the contact point. I think this is worth a video on it's own! Thank you for the great tips, Sven!

I have the same issue with missing the sweet spot on the racket with some backhand swings. Although my problem is, I do everything 'by feel'..... so I don't look at the ball at all, but rather look at the place where I want the ball to go. Anything I could do to help me keep looking at the ball Sven?

Let me guess you hit the ball with the top part of the racket like me

Great explanation, i'm come from volleyball as player and coach and i appreciate your technical tips about a shot similar to volley smash. I totally agree with last tip, if you stop movement after Ball contact, all vibration are focused in Your contracted muscle's arm. Complete the arm swing dissipate all dangerous vibrations.. Great job, 👍👍

A little help with very high lobs which gives us lots of time for preparation but falls very quickly and the ball is not really moving into the court but close to the net which i would like to attack without letting it bounce. I cant seem to get the timing right on these and most of the time all preparation is done but i still completely miss hit and in some cases i still manage to recover and return the ball because even after the miss the ball still has bounce due to the extremely high lob. Your insights are much appreciated, thank you thus far with your very valuable online coaching.

Thank you so much for sharing, very good tips! I'm improving my smash better also paying attention on bending my knees and my back so not to be so rigid and giving elasticity and fluency to the movement.

Excellent video with some great tips! Minor nitpicking for your sections in the video - there's a big difference between "not breathing" and "not breeding" 😅 (2nd to last tip)

Thanks mate, as a beginner I think I am doing almost all of them atm as I often hit the end wall or the net 😢😂 Since I started to use the non dominant hand to aim the ball, I agree, it's a game changer. I've subscribed and will try to correct some of them in the next game, thanks for the tips!

Amigo ❤️.. as always amazing tips! would add 1 more mistake relating to wrong grip and 1 bonus tip.. the bonus tip is keep your feet pointing diagonally between 12 - 3 Oclock.. this will help while smashing with hip rotation generating extra momentum 😉

Um dos meus erros foi comprar raquete muito dura. Então achava que tinha que compensar com a força do braço. Comprei há pouco uma vertex confort e mudou muito, porque sinto confiança em mexer o braço rápido mas sem abusar da tensão.

I can, in the best of worlds make a smash hit the back glass and bounce over the net when im training by throwing the ball my self straight up, and be absolutely prepared. Never able to make it in a live match! So i think im lazy in the preperation stage. As always, learned alot and a really good video Sven! Thx alot! And also, would take LeBrons smash! Damn he can kick the ball out from the serving line! How insane isn't that!

Yeah! Most pros do it, it creates more "lever" and gives you more wrist movement for that extra effect

I understand that you should smash with 70% but we are playing with people who where we smash and it's coming over the net, they run forward and catch it for a counter attack
@OtroNivelPadel9 ай бұрын
Then you might need to hit the ball higher on the glass, so the bounce will be higher
