Its too late for Cena to start putting people over clean. The damage is already done and those fans aren't coming back. Now the show has become Indy wrestling and its not interesting anymore. No real stars, No awesome characters. Its just plain wrestling with no real storytelling.

When Hogan was at the top you had maybe 5 PPVs a year. When Cena is at the top there have been 12/13 PPVs a year. Thats way too much exposure for one guy. If WWE wants to have that many PPVs a year, they need to have more than one top guy.

Kevin Owens is in a better position now so I wouldn't count him. Dolph Ziggler was world champion in early 2013 , then he got a concussion, lost the title and WWE stopped pushing him to the main event. Rene Dupree I didn't see him as a future main eventer, but the rest yes.

Agreed. Both matches were utterly dissapointing. It should be okay that he loses every once in a while (which I realize he technically did in the Triple Threat at Fast Lane, Royal Rumble, and Taker last year). But it adds more of a story for him to comeback.

All they do is build that person up and then once the match happens that person gets squash and would beat some other character to help rejuvenate them. It's so stupid. I hate watching every Brock Lesnar match look as if some kid was controlling him spamming the same two moves.

+Jake Wade Brock Lesnar being a monster is a good thing. Making his opponent look like jobbers during Brock Lesnar matches is not a good thing. Seriously it's like they don't know how to make an entertaining match with Lesnar. The match with Ambrose would've been so much better had Ambrose had some offense while getting a ass wooping and keep kicking out. The match with Orton would've been better had they made it look like Orton would win.

Things will never be the way they were in the 80's and 90's because fans don't want it that way but, stars can still be made. Cena was the big problem with there being no other real stars. If he keeps losing clean or otherwise new stars will be made again. Of course they don't wanna over do it and make him a Jack Swagger type. If that happens any win against him will become meaningless. He can win every now and then to keep up appearance. The main problem is that WWE over does everything. They book people to win against nobodies and then those people get fed to the real stars.

Since the WWE is going through a new era for their product, they have given a refresher for all of us. I personally believe that it is time for John Cena to lose cleanly because I'm sure he wants to help push other superstars towards their true potential and for the fact that he has other commitments that are outside of professional wrestling. You hit the nail on the head with the plot device. That's exactly what this is, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. You mentioned putting over the future, well AJ Styles is pushing 40 himself, and as much as he's improved and how great this run of his may have been... they talk on commentary all the time how "Cena's older now, and his time is running out"... That story told in that match at Summerslam was one where there was little doubt who the better man was. Everything Cena did got countered into something better, sure he was able to kick out of a lot of big moves and wouldn't stay down but in the end he simply met his match... and while SD was some fluky rollup, Cena doesn't lose matches like that. He's Tiger Woods, he was so certainly going to pass Flair's record but he's slipped so much lately, that maybe the "new era" has passed him by? hell as wrestling storylines go in 2016, this is really good stuff. And sure it's leading to RAPPADO!!!! and Cena conquering all in the end and winning that 16th title against Styles as soon as possible, but right now, AJ Styles is legitimate odds for John Cena to overcome... I can't remember the last time I thought that. And if that's his WWE legacy, that's as good as you can get.

Ok Jeff, I would really be interested to see you do a video in which you list your top positives about the WWE. I don't mean this to be a slam against you in any way. I've been a fan of you since the original OTRS channel in 2011, but sometimes your videos are so pessimistic and jaded towards modern wrestling that they're a bit hard to get through. Hearing you destroy every detail of the company is entertaining and all, but I would really like to see that opinion rounded out by hearing about what you think they're doing right, how ever little amount of it you believe there to be. Or even a video listing some ideas WWE could do to make things better. You could even try reviewing a different product like Lucha Underground or something, or review old school wrestling. Anything that isn't trashing the company, because some positivity would really balance out the negativity.

Personally I find the product to be shit whenever cena is away, because usually that means over played heels like Orton and HHH get the run of the show making the same BS sctick promos over and over again. Keep in mind where Raw was before Cena arrived. It was the second show for WWE thanks in large part to HHH. Don't rewrite history, Cena pretty much maintained consistent viewership as the top guy. The 50 percent drop you mention didn't happen until these most recent years where Cena has been in a similar role to undertaker on smackdown from 2004-2007. The guy who is the name you have to beat to get over and for the most part he has put people over. It's the writing for characters afterwards that screw up everything.
