I've had good results throwing the neko rig and appreciate your videos on the subject. One thing I dont see in any videos on the neko is the correct retrieve. I tend to keep my rod tip high and twitch or pulse the bait every once in a while. I've seen one video where the gentlemen kept a low rod, close to the water. He incorporated twitches a few times and said he got better hookups this way. Keeping a tighter line to the hook. Am I better off fishing it with a high rod, or should I incorporate the lower to the water, tighter line approach? Ty for your time.

Have not tried the neko rig yet however to me it is "somewhat" similar to the shaky head which I love. Thanks for the videos Ott, keep them coming!
@5.7.0bassin210 күн бұрын
Definitely try it I don’t even throw shakey heads anymore lose to many with a neko you can fish the same rig for days if you have a good band but it hardly gets hung up like a shakey head
@OttDeFoeFishing10 күн бұрын
It is. I like it because I think it’s more weedless than a shakey.

Ott, I looked on the Bass Pro website and can't find the Magnum cut tail worm like the one you tested just the 4.5 inch worm. ??? Is it discontinued or not available yet? Great video and good luck next week.

They all look great. I will have to try the cut tail. I use very old brass screws my grandpa has jars of for weights. Never come out.

How do you keep the nail weight in the bait. The only way I can get it to stay in is to superglue it. Love the Neko rig.
@jsean1311 күн бұрын
3/32 nail weight is my favorite weight for Neko
