I Beat the Toughest TALL Challenge in CK3 using FASCISM - 0 to 100 Development

In Crusader Kings 3 (CK3) I BEAT THE TOUGHTEST CHALLENGE WHEN PLAYING TALL (not really i made it up myself) by going from 0 to 100 development with the WORST START. This was BROKEN and OVerPoWeRED because I MAXED out my BUILDINGS and make TONS of GOLD. Congrats! you pretty much just read nonsense words.

This is literally how every run I play ends up. It begins with "Oh, I'll play on speed 4 and actually think like my character without minmaxing anything", next thing I know, I'm the head of faith with Communion tenet, my capital is 100 dev, I'm ahead of everyone else in tech, and I got my genius, herculean, beautiful twin sister pregnant. The most overpowered factor for developing your county is councillor efficiency. The two ways to increase it, which you did not mention, are with the "Family Business" Realm tradition and with the last perk from the Erudition tree in the dynasty legacies. The effectiveness not only increases their total efficiency by 10% each, but also increases the scaling of their respective main attribute by 10%. This means that instead of 0.175 development per skill, you will get over 0.25 development per skill, about 46% more than a councillor without those perks. Becoming Soulmates or best friends and the "Planned Cultivation" scholarship lifestyle perk can further increase this by 40% and 20% respectively, giving you 0.567 development per skill of your steward.

Besides all the ways you mentioned, if you are a vassal and have the “coinage” tech unlocked, you can modify your vassal contract to grant coinage rights which increases your dev growth in your capital by another .3

I had an idea for a video: Your viewers submit save files that they are OP in. You've gotta take a neighboring country and try to defeat them. You can even set criteria like, game start date MUST BE 1000AD so that they have a challenge to develop an OP nation within a timeframe. No created characters. Think it would be a fun difference from the "disaster save" files

One time I created the roman empire and conquered all of Europe, north Africa, and Arabia and had an army of 130,000. although its not in 1000AD and I did use a custom character but it would be interesting to see him beat that assuming the empire doesn't collapse under the AI.

Development in steppe is harder. There in NO culture tradition to boost development or reduce cost of buildings and terrain have -50% development growth. You have 2 traditions for forest/taiga development and buildings cost.

There are scattered hill terrains in some baronies. The county of karkaraly has hill terrain which makes it a good capital for a steppe empire because instead of -50% development it only has -10%. It's also among the counties with the most baronies in the game, so if you build it up properly after converting or reforming you can get pretty rich

Though that is a pretty rough start, it does come with one advantage; nobody in their right mind even wanted what you had until you had already built it up into a powerhouse. In your early years, there were many who could have crushed you with a flick of their pinky, but they were currently too far away and too busy to really take notice of you. By the time the Mongol hordes got their shit together, you likewise had plenty of time to create a powerful force of your own.

You also can further increase your development by picking up the Megalithic Constructions tenet to your religion which allows you to construct megalith buildings in temple holdings which increases the development growth by 2-20% depending on its level.

You don't need to pick "the longest pilgrim" to get the trait. Medium, Long and Very Long will all give the trait. Only "Short" won't do

There's steppe that kicks ass in the 800s. The Jewish Horse Lord, the Khazar have a fucking kick ass development in the duchy "Itil". Kick ass for steppe. Think it's at like 10 by default. So you could feudalize as soon as you meet other reqs. My most recent game started in Kyiv and I varanagian'd my way to Alania after they gained independence, then killed my way through the Khazar. Currently the Khazar empire in my game is full Jewish, Norse, Horse Lord's. Goddamn was it worth it.

I really liked this video. It felt half tutorial half fun gameplay. Well, fun for us to watch - I realize it was probably not the most fun game to play because of all the sitting and waiting. Instead of playing tall, I'd actually like to see a wide game. Not a world conquest, per se, but maybe see how widely you can spread your culture. Or I'd like to see how you deal with a game where you have a lot of powerful vassals struggling against you. Alternatively, instead of games where you rely on stewardship and learning, I'd like to see games where you rely on diplomacy and intrigue. Just some ideas - mostly because I struggle with those things and I'd love to see how to do them properly.

The problem is that to play successfully wide you NEED to play tall a little. Without a large powerbase factions are going to frick you up.

You missed the BEST based development growth. Court GARDENER! The tradition _Garden Architects_ unlocks this court positions which gives an additional 0.1 - 0.7 PASSIV development growth per month in your capital which is NOT penalized by max. development from tech and or by Steward job.

When building up tribal economy, it is a HUGE mistake to ignore military buildings. Markets is the last thing i go for the slot. Military all the way as in tribal era they run on prestige as you already mentioned. To get your prestige wagon running you need to WIPE stacks of enemy soldiers. To do that you need elite quality army. That means you need a lot of juiced up champions and your military buildings are doing exactly that. Your sole goal in tribal era should be to gobbale together as much prestige as you can get, counquer a lot of land and murder endless number of enemy soldiers. You shouldnt even think about getting to feudal age before the end of tribal era. By that time you should already be in control of fairly large empire... generally speaking.

I am just gonna correct you on one small point. "You shouldnt even think about getting to feudal age before the end of tribal era" *You should become feudal shortly before the end of tribal era - the reason is, it isn't gonna trigger before you become feudal and there is 10 year cooldown after it triggers, so you are not researching any innovations in that time if you've done all in tribal era. There is a bit of an "exploit" that if you hybridize your culture with some culture that is already in early feudal era, you get it unlocked even without becoming feudal.

Hello! You should try to do basically the same thing, but without being able to declare wars. None. Literally none. You are also (therefore) only allowed to revoke titles when the acceptance is 100%. I impose a few more restrictions on myself, such as not using my female courtiers to matrimarry stewards and other insane people for my court, playing with short diplomatic range, not abusing communion, avoiding the eugenics dynasty tree and only being allowed to pick your childs lifestyle based on their childhood trait (only two options, not all 5). but that's just personal preference. It's not being able to declare war that forces you into intrigue and diplomacy - aka not learning/stewardship every single character.

I genuinely think that the Merya culture is the best one in the game because it starts out as an empty slate with only 1 tradition that you can fully customize yourself. The only tradition they have is the "storytellers" tradition too which just makes guardians better. + TRIBAL IS WAY MORE POWERFUL THAN FEUDAL, THE 4 BULDINGS YOU GET ACCESS TO ARE ALL THAT YOU NEED, YOU CAN UPKEEP YOUR WHOLE ARMY BY JUST HUNTING CONTINUOUSLY - OONGA BUNGA WILL NEVER SURRENDER; APE STRONG TOGETHER 👺

• Start in Kiev, do a Variangian war to these terrotories, and you will have the best heavy infantery unit in Taiga + the best archer unit in taiga, you can easily create a realm really fast by destroying everyone in the area, even the Mongol Empire starting next to you won't be a threat for long. • Start improving the capital develoment since you esablished in the area. • You have 3 holy sites really close to each other, so you can reform the Turumist faith, and go feudal. Reform the faith with communion and your vassals will give you tons of piety, then you can consecrate bloodline. The only tiny difficulty is when you go from tribal to feudal because your neighbourg will have a lot more army than you, but a few raids on Constantinople and the Bizantine Empire should be enough in the early stages of the game to create a big fortune and sustain an amazing army while swaping feudal.

i should've sent you the file where i made it 6 gens with a custom pagan character on iron man. The last generation i fucked up because I didn't understand the inheritance thing, and when i took my son over he had the story to become a beserker. Well i took it and then another story came up saying how I murdered everyone in my court🤣 literally I had like 26 kids or some shit and it said I strangled them with their intestines. I’m currently doing an achievement run on that premise. I started as Heisteinn and moved to Sardinia and then up to the Isle of Mann. I plan to elevate the Isle Of Mann for the renown and military bonuses then finish up the kingdom of Sicily to get the “faster than the fox” and “going places” achievements. I then plan on conquering all the other islands in the Mediterranean and Atlantic and getting the “king of all the isles” achievement. I also originally intended to form the Jomsvikings in the Baltic by using the Estonian island required for the king of all the isles achievement as their base, but an NPC already took it before me. I believe this would be one of the most overpowered starts.
