അതിമഹത്തരമായ ഒരു പ്രവർത്തനം. ഷൈനി ബെഞ്ചമിൻ എന്ന സിനിമാ പ്രവർത്തകയെ അറിയാൻ വൈകി എന്നതിൽ ഖേദം തോന്നുന്നു. സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യമെന്നാലെന്തെന്നറിയാൻ സാധിക്കാത്ത പാമര ജനതയുടെ ജീവിതവും ജീവനവും. ഓരോ ഫ്രെയിമും ഓരോ വാക്കും പൊളിറ്റിക്കലായ സിനിമാനുഭവം വിസ്മയകരം തന്നെ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയിലൂടെ മറ്റൊരു സ്ത്രീ 'സ്വതന്ത്ര ഇന്ത്യയുടെ' കഥ പറയുമ്പോൾ അത് സ്ത്രീപക്ഷവും, സാധാരണക്കാരന്റെ ജീവിതത്തെ തൊടുന്നതുമായിരിക്കും. പക്ഷെ, 'ഒറ്റയാൾ' പ്രേക്ഷകന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ തൊടുന്നതല്ല, കരളിനെ പിളർത്തുന്നതാണ്. പുതുതലമുറയ്ക്ക് പുതിയ രാഷ്ട്രീയ, സാമൂഹിക അവബോധം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതാണ്. നന്ദി ഷൈനി, ഇത്രയും ഹൃദ്യമായി ഒരു ജ്ഞാന വിരുന്നൊരുക്കിയതിന്.

ദയാ ബായിയുടെ രണ്ടു സ്റ്റേറ്റ്‌മെന്റുകൾ മാത്രം മതിയാവും ഈ സിനിമ മുഴുവനിരുന്ന് കാണുന്നതിനുള്ള പ്രേരണയാവാൻ. 1. It's very difficult to follow both Church and Christ. ചർച്ചിനെ fully follow ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ I feel I am not with Christ fully. So my option is Christ. Church is very secure and comfortable. Christ was not like that. Christ was with struggling people, with the marginalised, with the rejected, with the nobodies of society. 2. ഈ സ്ത്രീകളൊന്നും അവരവരുടെ കഴിവുകൾ മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ എന്ന് എനിക്കു പാവം തോന്നും. ഇതാണോ ലൈഫ്? ഓരോരുത്തര് എന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും, What do you do? എന്ന്. I say 'I live'. For me, living means using every opportunity fully, interacting with every situation. പലരും ജീവിക്കുകയാണെന്ന് എനിക്കു തോന്നുന്നില്ല. അധികം ആളുകളും കഴിഞ്ഞുകൂടുന്നു, എന്തൊക്കെയോ ചെയ്തുകൂട്ടുന്നു. നന്ദി ഷൈനീ, ഇതിങ്ങനെ ഡോക്യുമെന്റ് ചെയ്തതിന്. ❤
