I wish the ones making the comments that they want more Bingo would stop. Belle is a new member to the family so of course there is going to be a lot of videos about her but they are not leaving Bingo out. Belle is also important to Bingo because Otters are social critters. I am loving the videos. I can tell Bingo is a mommy's boy and Belle is a daddy's girl. It's so sweet. These otters are amazing! Socially they are as "sophisticated" as us. I think it's funny that Belle is cutting backflips in the water, and Bingo shouting "Help Me" when y'all tried to put him in the water the first time! It's not about being an otter with Bingo. I learned a neat fact about otters, yesterday. In an otter social hierarchies, the alpha female is at the top. Otter societies are matriarchal! It's no wonder Otter is so scared of little baby Belle! He knows she's going to be the boss soon!

Is that so? How fascinating! That explains why the females display such dominance, ( Hana does the same) Isn't it wonderful to have this 'window' to observe them through. The Internet can be such a force for good and for learning. Don't you think?

Magsent Absolutely! The potential for doing good is almost limitless. Being able to see these amazing creatures interacting with each other and their pet humans is such an incredible, and arguably unique, window into their social behavior, even if it isn't in their "natural" habitat. For me, it's also life-enriching. I take considerable joy in watching them grow, physically & emotionally. It really does improve my quality of life to see them everyday, even if only through my TV screen. Being able to find answers to the questions that arise while observing then, & with only cursory effort, is a profound luxury that has never existed before in human history. It is sometimes overwhelming how much information we have access to, in so many forms and mediums. I'm so grateful to be able to share in the joy these wonderful animals bring into the lives of their caretakers.

Do otters naturally den in the wild? They are always in tight small spaces in these videos and always underneath something
