I was extremely lucky to capture an otter visiting a Northampton river, only a few 100 yards from the main Uni campus. An incredible chance to film this amazing animal and one which seemed undeterred from me and a fellow photographer from capturing some stunning visuals. This was my first sighting ever of an otter in the wild... how lucky we were. Great captures Keith as always. Well done. 😉👍

Great one Keith, that took me back to my first Otter pic at Langford Lakes near Salisbury, Wiltshire . Just photographed a Great White and then one swam in as I was lying on a fishing pontoon. The local Fisherman were not happy it ate all the big fish in the lake ! 😀Happy days

Its badger Keith. But most likely one of those holes they make as temporary rest or escape places during their nightly walks. I dont know the exact English name, Sorry...
@KGsPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeroen. Yes that makes sense as it was not a full blown Badger set but definitely bigger than Rabbit etc.

Thanks Keith, Otters must be one of the most elusive creatures to photograph, congrats. Cracking images. The hole looks like a badger excavation to me. Merry Christmas and a very happy new year. All the best to you and yours. Cheers 🍻. 👍📷😎

Thanks Rob, as you say very elusive creatures sometimes. Thanks for your thought on the Badger diggings I think you are probably right. All the best to you and yours for Christmas and the New Year. Cheers Keith

Hi Keith great watch as always and some wonderful images, I'm pleased for you getting your first otter images and I hope you get the images your after. For me otters are a double edged sword as one off my passions is carp fishing and I've seen fisheries that have been decimated by them and with the Carp they only eat behind the gill's and the throat and leave the carcus on the Bank luckily for me most of the lakes I fish are otter fenced but having said all that they are still magnificent creatures. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
@KGsPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Clive. Yes understand what you are saying, can be a difficult balance sometimes. A lot of the fishing lakes around the area have been fenced off which maybe why we are seeing more otters on the reserve. Take care my friend.

Well done mate, not an easy project! I know they have supposed to have repopulated all the rivers in the UK now. I've seen one once on the Trent two years ago when out walking the dog and bearing in mind I walk that route every day just shows how difficult they are! Then again my daughter used to see the regularly under the bridge at Durham when she was at Uni there😂😂 Lovely footage and images👍👍
@KGsPhotography Жыл бұрын
Thanks Scott. Yes they are very elusive, these ones were around for 2-3 weeks then disappeared as quickly as they arrived. Hopefully will find more this year. Cheers Keith

Hi Keith, Great video, you managed to get a few shots and some footage of the Otter, it's a start anyway👍🏻 There is supposed to be one in the area that I live, but I have never seen it. Unless it sailed past me on an occasion, as they are quite timid creatures. I loved the photo with the 'No Fishing' sign. I thought to myself wouldn't that be a brilliant shot with a Kingfisher perched on it, we can only dream. Whatever you are doing for Christmas Keith, have a great one and a happy new year..🎅👍🏻👍🏻
@KGsPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eddie. Yes could you imagine a Kingfisher on the sign with an Otter swimming past, how good would that be 😂. Keep a look out they are very silent so difficult to spot. You to mate have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year 👍🎄

Just brilliant Keith. Some cool photos and that one out of the water behind the Heron is amazing!! You create such a wonderful atmosphere with these films and the anticipation and excitement shines through. Otters are brilliant. I’m so totally hooked but have rarely seen them out of the water around here. Just got very lucky last year and keep going back to the same spots. I reckon that was a Dog Otter you had there but so difficult to be sure Great stuff mate - I reckon October / November is the best time to spot them. Your patience paid off big time Have a brilliant Christmas break Keith 👍👍👍👍
@KGsPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave your videos of the Otters definitely inspired me to get out there and photograph them. Yes I think it was the dog Otter, there were two some days and a big difference in size. There was also what sounded like a juvenile calling some days. Have a great Christmas mate and good luck in the New Year.
