my pampaw was the same way haha. i brought a bird that i caught into his house as a kid, oh man you shoulda heard how he barked at me. "get that damn thing out of my house! this isn't a zoo!" but in the same barking voice he told me years later that he'd always love me no matter what. i bet our grandfathers are kicking back somewhere in paradise together with the rest of the ottos

I have often told folks we need to teach high school kids how to drive sizeable U-Hauls. Trucks drive different, they can take a long time to stop, and they do not handle well. I'm gonna add backing up a trailer to that list now.

Reminds me of my grandma's old neighbour. Dude would say the rudest and low-key racist stuff but his actions were always kind. We once made a bike ramp out of some scrap wood and old bricks and he roasted our "Mumbai slum shack" construction taking the wood only to come back 30 minutes later with a ramp he'd just put together in his shed. its actually good for different countries to remake movies, it allows that movie to a broader audience, those that didn't know it was a remake gets to find out and seek out the original. Bringing in more people to other movies that they typically wouldn't look for. It can be shit, it can be amazing, its all positive.
