I bought the product and it works. It's a bit slow but gets the job done. If you don't have a touch screen, buy a small usb keyboard that works on Android systems. Without it, you won't be able to enter your Netflix, Spotify, or KZbin details. You can even have IPTV!! Good product overall

On my 2019 Audi A5 the touchpad doesn't work - I am unable to do most actions in the android system (for example connect to wifi). If I enter CarPlay it just lags and stutters. Completely unusable, so be careful before you purchase.

Everyone experiencing slowness, connect your device to the internet, update the software (it may take a very long time to download and update), then update the apps. Mine is working fine now.

I have a 2019 VW Golf European version Automatic. I have a touch screen but I dont think i have carplay cuz I cant watch videos now and no GPS on the screen. I plug my phone into the car and connect toVW Bluetooth to listen to my music and hear my GPS from my phone & take phone calls thru my car speakers.......Will this work?

I have a 2024 Civic that uses a touchscreen; how responsive is the KZbin and Netflix connection? And when you’re playing regular music (in the Apple Music app), can you switch songs using the steering wheel control?

Responsive in terms of what? I tried to show real time/real world switching between the apps and their utilization. It’s not like an iPad but for the head units in our cars they work pretty well. Yes you can switch songs from the steering controls.

Mine will not connect for wireless CarPlay. You have any advice? It also disconnect from internet when I try to clip the car play app. It connects to Bluetooth but will not do wireless CarPlay

I can’t connect to my CarPlay. It connected the first time but now it doesn’t. It’s connect via Bluetooth but when I do CarPlay it tells me to connect from Bluetooth but it’s already connected.

I’d try reaching out to ottocast for support and troubleshooting. I’ve had no Bluetooth or CarPlay hiccups, just need to wait about 30 seconds between switching connections

Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I’m having the same issue; CarPlay worked initially. After watching a few minutes of Netflix, CP will not work anymore; keeps saying connect to Bluetooth even though it is. Everything else seems to work except CarPlay. iPhone 14 Pro Max.

This only works when a car has factory wired CarPlay. You’d need an aftermarket solution for the RLX like the Grom unit or Navtool etc

The problem is you need WiFi to play Netflix and yt . If you connect your mobile, your android auto knocks off . So it's kinda catch 22. Anyone with this problem ?

Yes that’s how it functions. Mine switches between hotspot for the apps then back to the phone for CarPlay

I bought the OttoCast U2 Air Pro lasted less than a week. Their support is atrocious, it’s seriously bad. Dozens of emails, their money back guarantee doesn’t exist, it’s been 2 months of emails without any success. They finally promised to send after a month of emails, still not sent. I bought the Video2player, same! Doesn’t work and no reply, after 5 emails and waiting 3 weeks they sent me a video in Chinese with Chinese writing, totally useless. They told my wife they were based in Newcastle Australia hence why she bought it first me. Truth is they are only based in China and sell dodgy products, I have had 2 technicians look at it and they say the units are hopeless. I’m trying to return it for a refund but Ottocast just won’t return my emails Don’t buy their rubbish products

I think Ottocast looking at the replies is it is very dodgy with a lot of issues! It only works for some with a lot of people having issues and no product support. I’m one of those with a dodgy unit and poor support and finding it very hard to get my money back, typical of Chinese products, what’s sad is they pretend not to be based in China.

Netflix and YT are stand alone apps with the unit! As long as you have internet to the unit (hot spot) they will work!

In an everyday scenario: What happens if you turn off the car while are on the Android Auto split screen with waze and spotify playing, then you come back later, turn on the car: does it go automatically to the android auto split screen? And does it resume music automatically?

There is a lag like any wireless adapter/OEM wireless option from the sound with the phone etc however I will say the sound/mouth delay on KZbin and Netflix is minimal, and not overly noticeable

You have to connect it to an internet source to use the youtube/netflix applications. You do NOT have to connect it to a hotspot for the wireless carplay/android auto

I have a 2017 maxima and doesn’t work in my car at all. I had the u2 air model which worked fine. I brought this one bc I wanted Netflix and KZbin but for some reason even when I connected play2video my car saying starting car play then it doesn’t recognize the device. Please DON'T buy this item. Total waste of your money. The display resolution of your factory OEM CarPlay or Android Auto will be much less than the OEM. Also, the unit gets very high temperatures which is quite dangerous for having it in any glove box. Better stay away from the OTTOCAST company that does not follow their returns policy. They are just losers.
