Actually those pictures are fictional. Harem was not in that way. It is a place which is like the inside part of the house. Where mostly the female servants would live. It was also a school for women. And they ofc used to dress more modestly. Everyone used to dress modestly in that time.
@chalani12323 жыл бұрын
Well it was a cage for women anyways
@rask6243 жыл бұрын
@@chalani1232 a cage? Those women are want to be the servant of the kingdom by their own will. For that era, be a servant in a kingdom is the most precious job. They have to really qualified, especially for skills and loyality. In middle east countries (muslim coutry for specifically) harem is almost like the main palace. But it built special only for the Queen and her women servant. Their duty is take care of the queen since the king is focussed to his job, making and cleaning the queen’s dresses,gowns,bedroom etc..they also can go out with the queen’s permision as long they informed where and why the servant doing there. this system was made to prevent any sexual abusement if the staff in the palace is mixed as the most kingdoms in other nations.

The most difficult life is the life of a musician in the harem. They are in close proximity to the harem girls whose sole purpose is to entertain the elite so love is missing in thier life and they pine for love. And for the musician it is very difficult to live in close proximity to the beautiful girls, build the emotion through music and not fall in love with them.

The Ottoman Empire was very attached to the Islamic faith, what you show as an Ottoman woman in those pictures is just a fantasy
@nullvoid60953 жыл бұрын
Honestly, they’re not butt-naked. If they want something that show skin from the Ottoman Empire, they could’ve looked in miniaturists of the time making portraits of pageboys in feminine attire, men of rank kissing them, and those gowns that harem musicians wear (their gömleks were see-through, their necklines were low enough for you to see their bosoms)
