I guess you have heard Poulenc Organ concerto by now. But also check out Bruchs Suite for Strings and organ op.88b! Absolute Beautiful piece but sadly very unknown

I'm looking forward to performing this with the Atlantic Sinfonia here in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada on October 3 at Christ Church Cathedral where I'm Organist and Director of Music. I'm really glad we've programmed this little known work, it's really quite a fine work!!!

Thank you for sharing this, George. I love music for the pipe organ (hence my meme/thumbnail), and I have been listening to classical music for 40+ years (since my mid teens). In all that time, I had NO idea Respighi composed ANY music for the organ! I do like this piece. It has a decidedly Franck-ian flair to it. That in itself is rather remarkable considering Respighi was Italian, Franck was French, and the two schools of French and Italian organ composition are miles apart! Yet there it is.

Sounds baroque, but at the same time Romantic or early Modern. But not in the same way as, say, Stravinsky.

@15:46 There appears to be a mistake in the organ score at this point. The B-flat in the left hand bass clef should be changed to a B-natural. In this recording the organist played a B-natural with his left hand and not a B-flat as the musical score indicates.

That B is made natural earlier in the measure (albeit in a different staff).
