Hope you get this! I have low density with a 2bc3a FINE hair. Just above the shoulders. How do I do the upper/bang section or if I can even get it to form families (my hair is so low density it doesn't form 'families' over most of my head)? I know I need small clumps or I will have 3 giant ringlets 🤣. I just go with an 80's hair band vibe...which looks nice but I get wonky pieces (from scrunching?) This is THE BEST vid I have seen on rake and shake. I have seen others where they don't show the smoothing👍so I haven't done that, and instead I have rake, shaked and smooched (honestliz technique)

Great and helpful video! We have Ouidad Climate Control Gel. What was the other product you were using, a pomade? Thanks!!

Sorry for the late response! Yes it is called Clear Control Pomade to open up the curls give fullness and remove any crunch without losing the memory of the gel. Thank you!

If Ouidad products are water soluble wouldn’t putting gel on wet hair defeat the purpose ??

Great example of this styling technique but the "cc" closed captions are terrible. It doesn't match what your saying as you're styling. There's quite a bit of disturbance so have a written explanation would have been great. Not the stylist fault. Thank you for the demonstration. 🙂

Sorry who has time for this?? I can straighten my thick hair in 30 minutes and stay straight until I wash it again. I thought wearing it curly would be easier..this seems like a lot of work to me

I am sorry such a late response! This takes about 15-20 min. It is quick in comparison to straightening out your hair and lasts just as long. If not longer. The curls get better as the week goes on. the other bonus is you do not have to worry about the humidity puff that happens when you straighten curly hair and weather does not cooperate. Hope this helps!
