I don't know what it says about me, but I thought the exact same thing as Rhett regarding Link's embarrassing Thanksgiving weekend incident. The psychological trauma of wrapping his arms around his unsuspecting sleeping mother seems like it would have been much higher than from wetting his bed. However, I found a couple of things about this conversation very endearing - First, either Christy or Jessie respected Link's dignity enough not to pass Link's bedwetting along to Rhett, and then Rhett, upon actually finding out, not busting Link's balls too much over it and even sharing his own little adult bedwetting story that I think made Link actually feel better about himself. Rhett always gets a lot of crap for giving Link a bad time, but it's mostly good hearted and often for the comedy of it all, but moments like this reveal the reality of their 40 year friendship and the compassion Rhett actually has for Link. I enjoy the banter and the poking fun of, but in all honesty, I watch Ear Biscuits for moments like these.

This morning I fell back to sleep listening, and had a dream that I was on some group trip in a cabin with them, and they kept talking while everyone was trying to sleep. Would you wake up in the middle of peeing like Link did though? I'd think if you had a seizure you'd just wake up at some point afterwards and notice the bed it wet or stained or smells of urine, but you wouldn't be able to wake up in the middle of peeing to run and finish it in the bathroom.

I have definitely dreamed I had to pee, found a place (usually a less than ideal place), peed, and then gone about my dream, realizing I still have to pee five minutes later, and then I wake up needing to pee REAL desperately. It's pretty common for me. I did pee myself in my sleep once, but I didn't wake up going, and it was more of a large leak.

Every time I pee in a dream, I have a moment mid dream-peeing where my mind realizes I'm asleep, and I get so worried that I'm actually peeing the bed that I wake up. I've only peed the bed a couple times as an adult, but they both happened this way. The other times I'm worried I peed the bed, and then wake up realizing I just really need to pee.

Same type of thing happens when I'm trying to "sort the mail" in my dreams, we look for a place to be alone but never find it. I think once I started to pee, in my dream, woke up and was really sure I'd peed myself. But I was dry.

If it makes you feel better Link, I did the exact same thing only a few weeks ago. It’s never happened to me before and I woke up totally flabbergasted. I definitely know what Rhett is talking about too. I pee in dreams ALL the time and wake up with urgency, but this time I must’ve just been sleeping too deeply. I think it’s a fairly “normal” occurrence, as in I think it happens to a lot more people than you might think. I drink tons of water throughout the day and night so I’m hindsight it’s not surprising, but still embarrassing. Thanks for telling your story, bc I was still pretty embarrassed about it lol

I brush twice a day regularly, but flossing was pretty minimal, until I switched to floss picks and don't have to awkwardly fumble with a piece of string in the back of my mouth. Now I floss twice a day as well and my dental visits go more smoothly. It is a very good habit to have.

I'm surprised the trail that Link uses, most wilderness parks, state parks and county parks don't allow dogs off leash. Its also just in general quite dangerous to have a small dog off leash. There was a guy this past week who accidentally hit his unleashed dog while biking and dislocated his shoulder.

Bed wetting can also be hereditary and in most cases it is I was a bedwetter until I was 12 years old and it was mortifying. But then I learned that one of my parents had that issue too as a young person. So as well as the emotional aspect, there is also the physical aspect.

My husband and all of his brothers wet the bed semi regularly into their teens. They are all really deep sleepers so I guess they just never woke up with the feeling of needing to pee. He hasn’t done it in years, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he did. He is a REALLY heavy sleeper. Plus now he works shift work so his sleep schedule is always a mess.

I know I need to wake up to pee when I'm dreaming, and have found a toilet, and am peeing but not feeling the relief. Either I'm peeing too long, or can't keep the stream going, or am interrupted by something. At that point I can usually make the connection that I need to get up. And sometimes, I barely even have to pee, but my bedwetter brain is freaking out over a tiny bit of pee in the bladder 😅

I also want to share that I wet the bed as an adult and I am dreaming or doing that then wake up suddenly and realize I have actually done it. I also scream in my sleep and end up actually doing it. also, I used to pee the bed all the time, and I still use my usual precautions because I got so used to it. basically, using the restroom before you know you’re gonna fall asleep, and not drinking much water in the night. it’s just become habit at this point, but it worked lmao edit: I also have a theory about the bed wetting thing. so I’ve never been a very deep sleeper. anytime I’m dreaming, I’m still hyper-aware of my body, so much that I sleep talk most nights. When I start dreaming that I REALLY need to pee and can't find a place, every "toilet" tuns into a hole or a sink - I had better wake up. Even more so when I feel the extreme relief of peeing in the dream. No prostate issues, happened to me when I was a kid. But I REALLY need to stop drinking any amount of liquids after 6 PM or so.

I've peed the bed a few times in my adult life and once I remember I was dreaming i was in a desert trying to pee in a pot or something. Whenever I wake up from a dream about needing to pee I feel lucky when I haven't actually gone pee 😂 Also, I had an ex who wet the bed once. I woke up and left to go to the bathroom and when I came back he was totally naked, the blankets were all kicked off the bed, and the sheets were soaked. He was definitely asleep cause I had to shake him awake to ask wtf had happened between me leaving to go to the bathroom and coming back. He said he didn't remember. It was a weird night.

I dream about trying to find a bathroom and all of the different stalls in every building I can look in has only dirty nasty or broken toilets or there is a line of people also looking for a toilet and I let them go ahead of me.
