Never heard of Mount Roosevelt before, what a lovely, touching monument! Teddy was quite the character himself, and he had many varied and interesting friends. ❤️❤️😎👍xx

Hi Marianne and Chris ! I look forward to the Wednesday and Sunday updates and after Yellowstone, I realize that your narration that is packed full of information with excellent humor and the videos of the landscape is so satisfying so I dug into your past episodes and I binged your Ireland adventures and I cannot expressed my absolute joy I got from it. 3 of my grandparents were born in Ireland and one in Scotland and I have many uncles and a couple of aunts and yes they love to have fun and socialize. My dream is to go to Ireland one day but your adventures I binged watched was a gift that did not disappoint. Now I have started from the beginning of your adventure to drive the circumference of the globe and I have to say there is something to coming in the middle of something then looking at the beginning that is very comical. You two are so awesome, I think of you all the time and pray the best for you. There are so many moments that I have laughed. OCEANS OF LOVE!

Many towns in the west love speed traps, so be careful. Usual ticket is on the order of $100.

While Walmart does allow overnight parking it leaves the final say to the store manager. In this case they had illegal problems so the lot was closed when the store closed. Might want to ask in the future to avoid a wake up call. Teddy Roosevelt was the major force in creating national parks in America. He had some bad points about him but we owe a great deal to him for saving much of the park land from being developed. Fun fact, he was also a major player in saving the bison which was near extinction.

We went into the Palace saloon in Prescot Arizona, just as the news were reporting that John Prescott had punched someone that threw an egg at him, the amazing thing for us is that the film Junior Bonner had been filmed there and my late Father's name is Bonner. The Palace has an amazing history when then saloon burnt down the customers dragged the bar out and sat and watched the saloon burn down.

TIP: you need to CALL WALMART AHEAD to see if overnight is allowed. EVERY city has different ordinances that will or won't allow it. Warning: you may have to talk to a few people, not every employee knows if overnight parking is allowed!!! 😎

Just curious why you guys don't boondock vs camping in a parking lot? There are lots of great wild camping spots in the Black Hills.
@TREADtheglobe
@TREADtheglobe Жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer - yep we try to when we have time, but sometimes when you have been driving for 7 hours just stopping and parking in the quickest, easiest and most convenient place is just a parking lot. It is often dark when we stop so we see it as a rest stop before the next day or driving. But we hope to bring some more parking spots soon 🌺

Ah yes, the friendly 'Teddy' Roosevelt, who famously said "I don’t go so far as to think that the only good Indians are the dead Indians, but I believe nine out of every 10 are". He really knew how to get along with people. A beautiful place and as always a great video guys, but don't overlook the brutal history that underpins all these modern American stories.
