Fried eggplant is the bomb-diggity. Slice them in @ 1/2 inch thick discs, salt and let sit for a few minutes. Pat dry, dip in beaten egg and then in seasoned cornmeal and pan fry until cornmeal is golden browned and the exterior is crisp. When done right, the exterior is crisp and the interior is creamy... super yummy!

Great recipe and video guys. Yes, other homestead channels have resceived the same warnings and like creators like you, have acknowledge these fact. It's a shame that the most decent and interactive things can not be shared. I found when the sunflowers self seed they grow taller...you are lucky the deer came and harvested ours and what they didn’t the squirrels pulled the rest...... I make a Mexican eggplant. I precook them till soft then take the inside and mix black beans, salsa, rice, onions, chorizo and Mexican seasonings into it. Then fill each half.....Then grill them on the grill till slightly charred .....adding your favorite cheese on top in the last few minutes till melted...........my son in law went crazy over this recipe and he doesn’t like eggplant.

Great video. Can't wait to try the beans. I am raising turkeys for the first time this year. I have a mixture and am not quite sure what breeds they are. I hope to raise them for the freezer and in hope of having one breed to hatch out their own chicks as you are. I will miss seeing the girls. I loved watching them help you in the garden and kitchen. I raised my daughter to help in the kitchen as well, and watching your videos with the girls brought back some good memories. It really is a sad world. I just cannot imagine what they hope to achieve by forbidding your children from appearing in the videos or threatening you with disabling your comments. It is the most natural thing and really delightful and a good lesson for other families to see your children helping you in the garden and kitchen. Is society so derranged that an image of a child has become a trigger for the ugliness in it? If so, the ugliness in the world is winning.

That's exactly why I want to get to the point where my family and I can homestead!💜 Closer together as a family, doing good quality productive work, that feeds us all,and teaches them skills they can live by. It's also an awesome way to homeschool. Math, cooking. Science, the balance between plants/the weather/water/ground quality, etc. Learning plant biology. Animal biology. Language arts when learning how to spell the names and using the words for things correctly. Grammar. Etc. Etc. My kids and my hubbs and I just discussed it today, and we are ALL excited to step our foot into the world. I told the kids to be patient tho. It'll take us 5 yrs or so to get there while my hubby and I do our learning to know what we need to know before diving into it all.💜 SO EXCITED! These wonderful folks help both my husband and myself figure out what we really would like to do with ourselves. SO glad this channel and this wonderful family exist!!💜💜

I would be so embarrassed if a family member saw that I had written something inappropriate on KZbin. It seams that many people are not embarrassed. Kids cuss in front of their parents. Men beat on women on camera. And now, we hear that people (presumably men) make nasty public comments about kids. Does nobody bring it up at their family reunion?

Not sure how the comment about KZbin taking down all comments with videos that have kids can be accurate.
