that's not entirely true, since huge amounts of spaniards emigrated to latin american countries all throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, once we were no longer colonies of spain. they weren't the only europeans to end up here either, so associating lighter skin exclusively with spanish ancestry is a huge oversimplification. in fact, i would even say it's latin americans with darker skin that are more likely to have colonial-era spanish blood

I hate to say it but these DNA things are kind of bogus. It isn't that the tests aren't done right. It's more in the math of lineage. Oprah Winfrey had the test done and found that she had some long ago relatives from some specific area of Africa. The discovery made her start weeping. The fact is that if you go back 12 generations or a few hundred years, and there are over 4000 "grand" parents, and they can be from anywhere.

I was not surprised at all it was almost exactly what I thought I was, my family kept decent records of their history, even the .9 percent middle eastern jewish or mizrah, lebanon area. My last name is in the Jewish surnames but no one in the family has been jewish for hundreds of years probably around the 1200's. Somehow they ended up in the Finland area so I ended up 99.1 percent mix of scottish irish, english, scandinavian, north western Europe - German , dutch, netherlands, france area, and .9 percent middle eastern.

I was as shocked as you when I found out my ancestry! I was always told I was 100% Salvadorian but I knew there had to be something else in my blood because my maternal grandma had light hair and light eyes, same with my mom she has a pasty white skin, my father on the other side is more dark skinned and that’s mostly how most natives from my country are! My results came back and I’m 39% Native American, Salvadorian, 3.2% south East Asian, 40.3% European, which broke down to 22.2% Portuguese, 15.4% Italian, 2% British, 0.4% ashkenazi Jewish, 0.6% French. While it is true that Egypt officially lies in the African continent. The egyptian peoples genotype is too far removed from the rest of Africa to call it truly african. They are genetically much closer to the arabs than the rest of africa. So in conclusion; Egypt is a piece of african land inhabited by a majority middle-eastern people

The "North Africa" DNA mostly refers to Northwest Africans like Moroccans and Algerians because their ancestors have inhabited the region for longer and their DNA is more restricted to North Africa, where as the Egyptians' ancestors mostly migrated during Neolithic from the Middle East, which is relatively recent.

Yeah the are Egyptians Arabs question seems to be political. I think they're North Africans, and I think genetic tests agree. But they've adopted an Arab identity and culture so it's a bit touchy perhaps. But I'm not Egyptian so I don't have first hand understanding of what everyone thinks about it

Not possible ,,,, because they dont have the same Y-dna ------ even Jews and Arabs and kurds from the same (Y-dna J ) are divers groupings even within the Jewish community and are over 9000 years so its not possible to be from Abraham or his children for 90% of Jews - despite the efforts to find the Abraham ancestor among jews it hasn't resulted in any finding - even if they are founded in the future among some jews the numbers would be small among jews because of the diversity of Y-dna within the Jewish community which makes it impossible for Jews to claim or have Abrahamic ancestry

If you look throw history Jewish people didn't mix with "outsiders" so all the genetics are very similar even though they speed throughout the globe . Being Jewish is more then a religion it's a race just like Italian Native American and much more they moved across the globe like gypsis but still remains within their self . You can see mixing in the DNA of Jews due to rape not like Christian's that were forced to be Christian's or else they will be killed (a little bit of history😉) most of christens weren't Christensen to being with and were forced to change there religion

orr stauber I agree that jews stayed with them self accross the history, but they also married a lot non jews. Judaism is coming from women, so even if she get married with non jew, children will be jew, than her girl may do it too, etc, so it's changing the dna. Otherwise how we can explain difference between ethiopian, arab, ukrainian jews body ? I think it's just jew who wanted to be scientifically a "race" to confirm their "difference".

terry26able we can tell by the color of their skin but the there isn't much difrance in the DNA of europien Jew and an middle eastern Jew . Though the appearance is different the DNA is very similar . But the DNA of two non Jew European is very different . Even if their from the same region .
