Herb tip-as pretty as it would look, don’t let your herbs go to flower or the plant will soon die. As you see flowers starting, pinch them off to keep the plant producing longer. Happy growing!

Always love your videos! I do want to say that Rosemary is super invasive and aggressive so you might want to move it from the standing garden so it doesn’t start to suffocate your herbs. I planted rosemary in my planter box years ago and it now takes up as much space as one of your boxes

Another option is to plant it in a pot and then hide the pot in the garden. It restricts how big the roots, and the plant, can grow but it still is in with your other herbs 🙂

I live in Florida too and we have rosemary in our landscaping instead of our garden and it looks beautiful and can grown larger

A little tip from a goldsmith (me) regarding your metal stamping: it works best to stamp on a sturdy surface like wood! Then the thin copper shouldn’t crinkle as much and the letters will be a lot more visible. The labels are such a sweet touch! Can’t wait to see you and your garden grow. 🌱💚

Good luck with your garden! I could share many tips but the best way to learn is trial and error. Have fun with it and don’t get discouraged…when something flourishes just remember to plant it every year! Some plants are finicky for even seasoned gardeners.

Hi Allison! For your carrots, just sprinkle sow right on top of the soil, and tamp down, then water. Carrot seeds don't really need to be a specific spacing at planting, because you can thin them to 1" apart, and eat the thinned young carrots. You also don't want to plant them too deep, and its hard to say but it did look like you were planting them very deep. Hope this helps for next time! I would also love to send you a set of my tabbed seed dividers that I use to organize my seeds! I use a cute decorative photo box, and the tabbed dividers fit in perfectly.

My husband’s mom always spends so much time and $ gardening and I used to think ahh so much wasted money but now I see how much value & joy & beauty gardening brings! Hello Allison, so excited to watch this, I remember planting a garden with my dad as a child it was so much work but the rain poured down after we worked so hard all day. But it had cucumber and yellow squash and it was delicious. My dad was always working in the yard when he was healthy and able to. he passed away last year. Sunflowers 🌻 always remind me of him, they were my favorite but he always planted them for me. They do grow quite tall. so they may do better on the ground. maybe once they sprout you may consider replanting them. I can only have a potted garden where I am. I would love to try the box planters like you did, they are beautiful. You are a beautiful lady of God. I am so thankful you share your Joy he gives you with the world it brightens my weeks and helps me to find joy in the simplest things. I love to organize my seeds in photo organizers from michaels or hobby lobby. I label them based on categories, mainly because I have over 100 seeds, and it’s easy to keep them safe from water.

Go to home depot and get one of there 5 gallon buckets it has a lid and u can make some holes in the sides for ventilation . good for compost u can add fertilizer sprinkled in it.

Milkweed is so good for monarchs! They will eat the entire plant before they make their cocoons and it’ll just grow back constantly. I have one in my backyard (also in Florida) and they thrive. Just last week we had 7 butterflies hatch and I see them constantly. It’s so much fun to watch the process. You’re gonna looooove milkweed. You might look into a Lettuce Grow too! It’s a vertical hydroponic planter that we grow food on in addition to our outdoor stuff. You can grow things all year round, and it’s a great way to try new things that you may have never tried before.

Congratulations on starting your garden. It already looks beautiful. You did a great job. The copper name tags are so nice. My best advice from someone who has gardened for years. Is don't ever be hard on yourself. Some years certain things just don't do well then the next year they do. It always seems to be somewhat trial and error, according to weather and other factors. Such an exciting time!! Gardening is a lot of trial and error. :) You will be amazed how big some of your plants get if conditions are good. For example, that basil will likely need more room to grow - your herbs are pretty close together. I had to transplant so many times my first year because I was shocked by how big things got!! It was still so rewarding though & now I know better for this year :)

I'd recommend putting polyurethane on the beds to protect the wood. Especially in the Florida sun, humidity and rain.
