I work with children over at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore MD. KKI has a continuously growing program, the Deafness-Related Evaluations and More (DREAM), we offer a range of comprehensive neuropsychological services to deaf and hard-of-hearing children who are not meeting developmental milestones and who are struggling in school, demonstrating behavioral issues, or exhibiting social problems. We also work with their physicians, families, schools, and other agencies. I personally work over in another clinic, the pediatric behavioral consultation program, and get referrals from this team, medical professionals, school teachers etc. I work in pediatrics helping, and healing these children and families using the strengths of the entire family unit. I love my job and having the opportunity to reach these children in their own natural language.... we are out here and your message is a fantastic reminder to all of us why it is what we do. My heart goes out for your loss.

I have been a fan of yours since seeing you on BATB many moons ago. I was doing a random search to see what you were up to and came across this video. I am a sister who lost a brother thanks to a very "unhealthy lifestyle." I am truly sorry for your family's loss. Mental health is often pushed to the side due to the misunderstanding of it all. What you said were well said and truth that there are insufficient advocacy agencies for Deaf, especially for, of and by Deaf individuals and professionals. You are right, really needed to be addressed in both communities: Deaf and Hearing. You are doing the right thing. Like what you are doing. I am so sorry to hear of this. We were talking this evening how to bridge the gap between deaf and hoh. It is interesting subject and yes there is a lot of work to be done to bridge communication between the deaf, hoh and hearing!
