Good idea to insulate the porch roof. If you ever decide to enclose the porch, the roof is already done. 👍🏻

Reducing radiant heat and cold is also a bonus when it’s open.

To me, insulating the porch was a no brainer. A metal roof with heavy rain can be loud and hard to remove in post. Most KZbinrs or home recording studios have to put extra noise cancelation treatment due to there being next to none in the initial construction of their spaces. If it is raining heavy outside whilst he wants to record something inside, there will be less noise from the metal roof and an easier edit.

Well this was neat to see come up in my feed. We just had a metal roof put on our little fixer upper and we’re doing the colour reveal on Tuesday! 😄 I’m looking forward to watching the installation. ☕️🇨🇦☕️

I never would've thought about insulating the front porch but when I thought about it, it made all the sense in the world. Well done.

Insulating the front porch is probably also going to dampen the sound of hard rain on it.

DON'T FORGET, metal slows radio signals. Depending on the signals in your area, metal roof + metal sideing MAY make your cell phone not work.

Yes. Good point. We are using poplar board and batten siding, so a lot of transparency there. As well we plan on putting an ag long distance WiFi outside to cover the entire property. Those will both help tremendously. The cell towers we hit are towards the front/rear of the shed (coincidentally). We played a lot with cellular WiFi before the fiber was installed.

We are cutting the poplar right after we finish the roof. Board & Batten.

I have to get Metal Roofing and cut it into 16in High Sections and place it Vertically around my Camper to Block Mice from getting under is and being able to Crawl up into my Camper through a Hole the Size of a Pizza Box the previous owner cut into the Shell of the Camper. I didn't know it was there until after I moved and had it all set up. At First I was wondering why Opossums and other Larger creatures were getting in. Looked under and there it was.. No Mice to Start because the hole was too High for the to reach. But I tried Blocking it with Plywood and that kept the Larger stuff from getting in but now made it possible for the Mice... I could not make it level since I don't fit under it, so one side of the plywood is just low enough so Mice can get onto it but High and close enough to the Hole to Prevent the larger stuff from getting in but Not the Mice... And NO, Mint, Bleach or Any other Smell that Mice "Hate and Can't Stand" Don't Do Shite! And NO, a Dual Tone Sound/Pulse Generator Don't do Shite either. And NO, Poisons from Walfart don't do Shite. And NO, they will Not touch the Cornmeal, Baking Soda and Sugar Combo. And NO, Glue Traps don't work in the Winter because they Loose their Stickiness and During the Summer stays too Gooey and just slows them down. Snap Traps are Hit or Miss but most of the time Miss because they can somehow eat the bait without setting off the trap. Anyway, that's why I am Hoping Metal Roofing used will create a High Enough Wall around my camper, they can't Crawl over it to get in.... OR Find someone small enough to get under my camper, that Can Not Be Moved, to Glue some sheet metal over the hole...

I have to say again the music is annoying. something slower and more toned down would be good. The project is moving right along and it looks great.
