Enjoyable to watch what French supermarkets are like! I've recently started eating baked beans again (must we the cooler weather), and found that I can add a can of rinsed pinto beans to a can of baked beans to almost double its quantity. Yes, from North Carolina. Our cost of living is less than California, but income is lower. But your groceries seem a better price. Homes, rent daycare, and vehicles run up expenses here for people. Food is also expensive.

I had a great reduced shop the other evening. I got 4 trays with 4 chicken thighs and chicken drum sticks. Reduced from £8.99 right down to £2.13 when I got to the till she said I was just going to reduce those further. Couldn’t believe it when she reduced them down again to £1.30 each. I also got 3 heads of broccoli reduced to 50 pence each then reduced again down to 25 pence. I could believe my luck. I only went in to post a Vinted parcel and thought I will just have a quick look to see what’s in the reduced fridge.

Another great video! Lovely scarf Jane! Great bargains. We also had a cool week but getting another burst of warmer weather this week and next week which I will gladly take! Making a nice chicken pot pie tomorrow for a dinner party along with a last of the garden produce summerish salad . Homemade hummus with cut up carrots and peppers for the appetizers. And a homemade lemon curd with some homemade cookies with for dessert. Your price for organic eggs makes me cry. I would pay 8$ Cdn for those! That cut up salmon would be great in a fish stew! Great international finds! I often look at those international sections also for better prices or bigger quantities for the same price. Have a lovely weekend.

Love watching your shopping from here in Australia. My late dad was a Geordie and he LOVED seafood. He used to say he could have it for every meal. I’m not so keen on seafood. Maybe a fish cake or a battered fillet occasionally but that’s it. Nothing that I would have to prepare, touch or really look at. Can’t do that. Dad used to get massive bags of prawns from friends on the ships coming into Sydney. Mum wouldn’t allow him in the house to cook them, so he’d have some friends over for a beer and he’d cook the prawns in the garage. Mum and I wouldn’t touch them. Nope …….

I do love a shopping haul! I know prices are still high, but it looks like you got a lot of good deals and I'm always slightly envious of the beautiful veg you find. Your produce is always so pretty. Supermarkets here dont have have the same quality. But chicken is usually a cheap meat. I used to put in food processor and grind to use half and half with ground beef to offset the cost. Now i just use half as much in chili or spaghetti sauce and add more beans or vegetables. Ethnic aisles here also have some great deals on spices. The packaging is minimal and not name brand so no advertising costs. Thx for sharing your haul
