Our biggest confusion as spiritual seekers is that what we're looking for is beyond this, but actually, it's the opposite. What we're looking for is actually in this and is this. When we're taught consciousness teachings, which are beautiful and relevant, we're told there's something beyond this, conscious of this, something prior to the body-mind mechanism that is aware of it. It’s a profound teaching, as it points out intellectually that there’s something experiencing the person that isn't the person. But it goes even deeper.

I remember when i was like just listening to such nondual teachings as like my seeker phase as like a comforting kinda thing. Fast forward a few years, where i actually do some daily practice now, and i realise...its still legit. It in fact echoes every kind of new or old, ""New Age"" or traditional teaching on this. Like how Dzogchen practitioners for example will talk about the ground (rigpa) of existence, and how an initial ""baby rigpa"" is sort of like a thought taking hold that you are "not this" or that, and from there a watcher or observer develops that as a reference point allows you to be conscious and observant of all else (thoughts, feelings, sensations, etc). But it's still a thought so theres still a divide between what you feel as "me" versus "the world" or phenomena or whatnot. And in real, developed ground of experience, it isnt a thought at all but totally and completely one with the phenomena (hence Not-Two) and in contrast no distance at all is felt, and one is truly present and truly whole and complete with each and every experience and everything that comes and that goes.

As the 'seeker' of the Who said, "I don't get to get what I'm after, 'til the day I die".

Being ‘Itself’ ideally bypasses the seeming necessity of establishing a separate person. Adding a ‘person’ is an unnecessary habit that summarily clouds over Everything -Everything Being 1st and last with nothing else added.
