As the Lovely Bride and I are on the cusp of full retirement and looking at a second Class A (first was 2008 Forest River 36ft 4 slide), we've gone back and forth on gas vs diesel and looking at Liquid Springs. Our experience with our first gasser made me want to upgrade to a pusher to avoid all the handling problems of gas units. Your video gives me more confirmation that LS is the way to go, drawbacks and all. I'm looking at it as a way to get the diesel-level ride and driveability without breaking the bank. Thanks for the video.

We have a diesel pusher with a great suspension. If we had a gas powered coach I would definitely have Liquid Spring installed. One thing I think you need to clarify is your comment about speed. Tires have speed ratings. Most are around 75mph but a few may be higher. Manufacturers do not recommend you travel consistently at or above the speed rating. They recommend traveling below the speed rating.

Your videos are great, don't listen to the haters. We bought a diesel pusher and still had to add the Safety Plus. The SP certainly improved our ride/drive. We were caught in those bad winds on I70 in March and it kept us on the road until we could find a place to stop. Everything else has been a learning experience on the suspension of the Freightliner chassis. We just learned, after having this coach for almost nine months, that we could dump the air to get the coach lower. It's all fun though trying to figure this stuff out.

Thank you for the great unbiased review. So glad you mentioned the additional weight of the product, we will not be able to use it due to losing that much on the towing capacity of our 3403 BayStar on the 26,000 lb rated chassis. You both look happy and healthy, glad to see MJ doing much better. Take care, and if you ever come thru central NC, you can stay over w us, we live waterfront on High Rock Lake.

Nice video. I upgraded from a 1996 P32 14K chassis on a 30' rig to a 2013 F53 24K chassis on a 33' rig. It came with a rear track rod and a huge extra sway bar. Love the ride, no sway from big rigs, great in the mountains. It would take a lot for me to shell out for LS upgrade. I don't need it to drive like a sports car.

This is good stuff. I feel that we got extremely lucky with our 2019 gas coach. I find it a complete pleasure to drive right out of the box. We’ve done no suspension upgrades and, IMO, it drives very nicely. But we are coming out of a 2007 Sprinter based class C that rocked and rolled like crazy and got pushed around by everything. Maybe this just seems better but it is much more comfortable to me. That said, if that ever changes I’ll look at Liquid Spring first.

The drive home from LaFayette was amazing compared to the trip up even in a rain storm with wind I’m doing 60 drinking a latte and listening to 70’s disco and driving with one hand what fun. I hope you all came through the bad weather and flash floods ok. I understand New Jersey took a hit let your viewers know how your doing. Happy trails Frank Forbes

Hey Frank we are ok through the storm. We live at elevation and flooding was not an issue for us but many did lose a lot. Glad your experience with LS is what ours was. Liquid Spring rocks! Loved this video review. I’m in total agreement with one addition... Regarding the steps... It’s been a huge benefit for many with limited mobility (Phyical Disability) for entering/exiting their coaches. My coach has been held back (delayed) from delivery due to the shortages. As I’ve shared, I’m having 4 corner LS installed for all the same reasons here, but the ability to assist me in my physical limitation for easier access to my coach. I definitely agree that LS needs to add a Bluetooth app for their systems. MJ Izzy... When I get my rig and LS install completed, I’ll video my setup, how it beneficial for me, and send it to y’all. thank you for this review...! ❤️✊🏻🏆🍀👍🏻 Blessings to y’all! Rockey

I'm a newbie to your channel and not familiar with your coach... I got to the point where you started talking about leaf springs before I realized what type of chassis you were talking about... I can appreciate the "can't go back" thing... Have owned a new Class C, a conventional gas-powered Class A and currently a 38 ft diesel pusher on a Freightliner chassis... Absolutely love the ability of our coach to "self-level" and drop down to a very low height when parked... Also, the "bus" type ride and handling... Not sure I would go to the trouble and expense of the upgrade if I were in your situation... Best to you!...

I appreciate what you are saying, but truth of the matter is just get a DP. Call it “”lessons learned” as we had. 2019 Tiffin Open Road and we did the normal total suspension upgrade: dual Koni FSD shocks all around, rear trac bar, new front sway bar, added additional rear sway bar in the rear, saf-T-steer, etc. At that time, Henderson’s line up was doing liquid springs for around $15K. We finally got fed up with the ride, on long trips and rougher roads and bought a DP, which IMO, is the right way to go if you can eat the loss to get into a DP. This is a personal preference, and I think you make a good presentation here with pros and cons and really give viewers things to consider.

I had a Tiffin 2019 gasser and considered Liquid Springs. By the time I would pay for the upgrade I'd be at the entry level DP price point. We ended up selling the gasser and purchased a DP. I'm sure it's a great upgrade but in my opinion the benefits of a DP outweigh the gasser. One final point you make is driving faster. I feared braking in my gasser. I think it makes more sense to have Liquid Springs an option at the manufacturer level where pricing could be more aggressive.

I am so glad you made this video. Very insightful points you made! I Especially wondered if it was more or less weight so I am glad you told us about the extra weight. definitely My 2019 Thor Challenger 35MQ, F-53 chassis, drives like a dream, says the guy who did the leveling and alignment on it and I have to agree but would love just a little more lean stability on turns and passing trucks. but it is way better than any other RV I have driven and I am comfortable driving this RV. I would love to get Liquid spring anyway but I do not want to add any more weight. I know you are asking yourself, why did it need an alignment already. It was leaning to the right from the factory, and when it is shimmed to level it, it needs to be aligned.

I purchased a 2021 Fleetwood Bounder 36F. We took delivery about 3 months ago and have driven ~3,000 miles so far. It drives great. I dont feel any trucks going passed me or cross winds. I have a jayco seneca on the freightliner chassis. here's my question, when we come out of a driveway with a drop to the street and turn so the back tires hit it only one at a time. it jerks the coach and will dump out of cupboards if you are not super careful. does LS help with this. Oh and i love the little funny clips you added to your vids.

Did you ever look at or test drive the Keldermann system? It turns an F53 into more of an air suspension system and is half the price of the liquid spring system. I'm sure it is not the same level of improvement as liquid springs, but it would be a huge upgrade over the stock suspension and may be good enough with a lot of money left in your pocket.

We have a 2015 Jayco and it has many of the normal suspension upgrades. It is very stressful to drive. The liquid spring system runs over $20,000 for a 4 corner system. This is not a practical upgrade for anything but a new RV.

@@EndlessRVing We, like you, have previously spent $7000 in suspension upgrades on our 2015 Jayco Precept 35UP including Koni Shocks, track bar, sway bar and Safe-T-Plus among other things. They made the motorhome slightly more drivable for short distances. These front engine gas coaches of over 35 feet are extremely dangerous to drive. I am a former race car driver and can tell you that these handle very much like an undrivable race car that has broken shocks and spring rate problems. I was hit by a dust devil in the desert last month on the way to Borrego Springs, CA. The front end went one direction and the back end the other. It felt like I went up on 2 wheels for a moment and that happened a second time a week later on a road under construction that went off camber. I'm thinking that a class action lawsuit would be a good idea for the owners of all these F-53 chassis motorhomes, for starters and I'm sure we can find a number of people who have had accidents. Our RV days are coming to a close over this experience. We feel like we have been taken advantage of by the selling dealer, by Jayco and then again by the dealer who installed all these upgrades to "solve" the problems but at best offered only an incremental improvement. We regret that we did not get a diesel pusher but that ship has sailed.
@TomSpurlock

I had the handling issue with my 2017 F53 too. I immediately upgraded the sway bars with RoadMaster HD sway bars, FRONT AND REAR, $2200. With a front end alignment all my handling problems went away. It tracks very straight, and trucks don't effect the coach nearly as much. However, it still "rides" the same over bumps and road potholes, etc. It's a spring system, so it still has the annoying rough ride that spring systems deliver. The primary issue I have (not counting the $20K price tag) is the repair support while I'm on the road. What if the suspension computer fails? What happens if I spring a hydraulic hose leak? Who's going to be able to repair it in the West? No RV dealer mechanics will be trained on this new technology (I would assume). How many authorized repair locations are there? Will I need Coach Net to get unlimited tow distance to a "qualified repair facility", which could be a thousand miles away? Since you're a spokesperson for Liquid Spring, please address this issue about repair support in all states.

I drove commercial vehicles for over 25 years and have over 2.5 million miles behind the wheel. I have driven some pretty “rugged” equipment during that time but my first motor home was an ‘04 Coachman on a F-53 chassis I told my wife when I brought it home from the dealership “If I had the car trailer behind me, I would have turned it upside down in the interstate “. Could not believe how bad it drove! From your comments, the 2019’s are not much better. I now have a DP with air ride and it is all the difference in the world. RV is supposed to be to relax, not to fight your way down the road.

Hi Izzy & MJ - I watched the three videos on your review of the Liquid Spring solution in Tampa, the install of the 4 corner system on your 2019 Newmar Bay Star and your 6 month follow up review. Your videos on the Liquid Spring 4-corner solution has sparked an interest. We have a 2018 Thor Challenger 37FH, a 38 foot Class A motorhome on the 24K Ford F53 chassis with about 39K miles. We bought our coach with 250 miles from the dealer. We have not done any suspension upgrades and was surfing the KZbin channels to see what other have done to improve the ride and handling for the F53 chassis. I was getting ready to price out the same items that you had until I cam across your review on the Liquid Spring solution. A couple of questions that you may be able to give us your opinion and observation. * Does the Liquid Spring solution address rear tracking issues? We tow a 2019 Chevy Traverse 4 wheel down and feel a lot of tail wag. * You left on the front upgraded Sway Bar and your Safety Plus steering stabilizer. We are looking at the safety plus too but wanted to get your opinion on if the upgraded sway bar would be need in the 4 corner Liquid Spring system was added first? * how well does the Liquid Spring solution handle the highway surfaces that are being patched and repaired/pot holes. we just finished a 5200 mile trip to Washington DC, then back to Glacier National Park returning home back in Cincinnati, OH. Some of the roads beat us to death. Love your channel and your honest feed back on place to see and upgrades to your coach. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Joe & Missy O' Cincinnati, Ohio

Wish you had shown this video before the bash so we could have talked about it. :) Guess I'm a little confused about the lowering and the steps hitting the ground.....when you lower it do you HAVE to lower it the FULL distance and that makes the step too low? Or can you lower it ANY distance in the 3" range and thus not get the step too low? We were suppose to go to LS last week before they took the demo coach to Hershey but had to cancel but suppose to go test drive after they get back from Hershey

Not everyone can afford the $24K+ for the LS on a gas coach, but it would be nice to know if the Sumo Springs, sway bars, Koni shocks, Safe-T-Plus made it better and by what degree. A detailed response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have the LS 4 corner system on my 2012 BayStar 3002 and with the coach fully lowered down (axles are resting on the bump stops) I can turn the front wheels to full lock both left and right with no interference concern. When I drop the coach down it absolutely LOOKS like the tires would interfere with the fenders if you turn the wheels very far, but I have tested it and in reality there is still plenty of clearance. Have you actually tested for this interference on your coach or just assumed the tires would rub based on what you saw?

That's unfortunate. My coach has 19.5" wheels; maybe that accounts for the different results? Since the system has a steering position sensor I imagine the software could be updated to not allow the front to be lowered when the wheels are turned.

Just curious with the first round of upgrades you did and that cost was that a major difference from stock and then the liquid springs and that cost how much more of an improvement was it from the first round of upgrades. Reason I ask is I’m about to drop a huge amount on a 2021/2022 class A and seeing how I can convince my wife to drop even more on liquid springs

Our DP steps stop when it hit anything. Our couch has a 3" up or 4" down adjustment and an alarm if not at ride height. With comfort drive® and Hadley stabilizing system no truck-effect. Air won't add weight and a DP chassis has a higher GVRW. Conclusion, putting a Liquid Springs on a DP would be a waist of time & money.
