I did the red skull thing last night for the first time got all the loot loaded up on my ship took it all the way across the map to the reapers hideout and as soon as I pull up I got struck by lightning and died my ship respawned and I got all the loot again but as soon as I harpooned it all I got shot at and followed across the map again just to lose it all to a fuckin rock I didn’t see 😢 it all took 3 hours to do 😂 now I just don’t even wanna look at the game but I know I will

Yea, that is SoT for you. Once you learn not to care about loot game becomes far more enjoyable.

The loot really only unlocks cosmetics. At some point, you end up playing SoT for the experience with the loot playing a more just general goal. The Siren Song voyage has been basically that. Get loot and then see what mischief you can get up to. If you sink, oh well. If not then you have a great tale to tell!
