Thanks for the videos.....always interesting watching you guys do some work. I'm amazed that bob-stay replacement didn't turn into more of a project. Seems like when I do something like that on my boat, it is just one stripped screw from turning into a 5 day project that requires twice the work.

Just finished installing the same bobstay fitting on our 1977 CT37 Pilothouse during our recent haulout. The older boats are much more difficult. They are completely buried under the chain locker floor. 3 to 4 inches of hard cement like polyester filler.

Ramble On is a ‘77 CT37 also. Ours is hull #91, so maybe they changed up their methods sometime in the production line. I’ve heard of a couple other older boats like ours that had the same situation as yours in the chain locker. Guess we got lucky.

Our's is hull number 63. Built August '77.

Rich just sand the easy part. Actually $90 an hr is a steal never mind

In hindsight it was worth every penny.

@@svrambleon Before 50 I'd go for it.

Yeah, we probably would have as well. I guess there are some benefits of being over 50 now, you just have to pay for them.

As you probably already know - if you are paying the $90 per hour YOU are the BOSS with all that means so the that the job gets done right.

Absolutely! The yard guys were terrific. No complaints.

You should turn turnbuckles with a wrench across the center web instead of using a screwdriver.
