Our Chateau's FIRST major public EVENT in 700 YEARS: Day 1

Dear Amy, you are always lovely and it’s a relief to see the real you in your overfull life. A stroll with precious Juliette in the woods seeing the world through her eyes is wonderful. Clement tinkering with his own tools next to Marc, helping with the animals. Living on a farm with the animals and growing your own food, they are rooted in the soil, grounded. You are sharing so much! My grandparents had a homestead which has been in the family since 1837 and spending summers there with the cousins was magical. It is still in the family. I am 77, raised three children, had a career and was always pressed for time, holding chaos at bay. But doing things with the children came always first. They grow up so quick! The days are long but the years are short! Now my son and daughter are in their 50s and we are so close! They reminisce about all our excellent adventures on the farm and in the woods. It’s our foundation. Raiding the orchard, and berries, pulling carrots from the garden and eating them right away, wiping the dirt off on our dungarees. Daisy chains in the meadows! Mushrooms growing in the horse pasture. We would gather little sticks and stones, nuts to make chestnut animals with toothpicks and little people with acorns and toothpicks, literally little stick figures. With bark and moss we made little fairy dioramas on trays.
