I've been raising chickens for over 30 years and have never had mites or lice and I don't do anything other than keep their coop clean and fresh.

I love this, but now I have conflicting information and I am confused. Other info says you cannot use lime and DE with the deep litter method. Or is that ONLY if you use your litter for compost????

I believe it is because DE may dry out the litter which would stop it from composting down and lime may kill microbes. In this video I am just sharing what has worked for us. I highly recommend carefully choosing what works best for you. ❤️

Hi Roger. We use the deep litter method and add DE every time we add new pine shavings. For our size coop, we add shavings once a week and do a deep clean twice a year. ❤️
