Always a pleasure, and who else but Tim and Mr. Boo can turn a rainy day and a trip to a Citroen service center a cinematic adventure? My highlight was the Chinese woman giving a good thrashing. It reminded me of a Chinese Girlfriend years ago who used to always browbeat me with "AND ANOTHER THING!" and worse... She once insisted coming along on a business trip to Reno to pick up a Cessna, (just to make sure I didn't escape a good thrashing). As soon as we left Reno she started with an onslaught of 'And another thing!" until reaching about 16,000ft., where without supplemental oxygen or cabin pressure she finally ran out of "Another thing" and oxygen, and passed out. She once told me an old Chinese proverb about a man with an abusive wife, and how one day he retreated underneath the bed to escape a particularly bad beating, only to have his wife demand: "You come out from under that bed! I'M NOT FINISHED BEATING YOU!". Finally having enough, he barked: "I'M THE MAN OF THIS HOUSE AND I'LL COME OUT WHEN I'M READY!...". I was reminded of a biblical proverb: "It's better to live in the smallest corner of an attic than the house of a contentious woman".

@@MeandMonAmi Thanks Tim, Good question. After a few other contentious co-pilots, I sort of conceded it was perhaps better to fly solo and lonely, than be married and miserable. But in all fairness to the Chinese girls, there were a couple I might have done better to stick with.

When I've taken a car in for service at a dealership, I tell them that I've got a hospital appointment (I haven't, but they don't know that 🤣) and need the car back by a certain time.......or sometimes I tell them that I'll sit and wait in the customer area (whilst drinking the free coffee) so that they get working on the car much faster. (16:24) That reminded me of similar experiences I have in Singapore, where most quick service restaurants open at 08:00 and public libraries open at either 10:00 or 11:00 depending on the location. I would normally wait and time when I'd leave home so I'd arrive when they open, but I'd also put up with family members who arrive early, usually to go to the airport, and they would bring us to eat at a place like Toast Box or Ya Kun which serve traditional breakfast. (17:11) I was reminded of when I read a CNA article about the same thing happening in Singapore and several other countries.

Great video and truly enthralling life in the slow lane 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Life doesn’t change in over 40 years. Let me explain. Back in 1981 I had to choose between a Fiat Panda and a 2CV. Yes I realise not top end choices, but the Panda won out as it accelerated faster onto the local death trap roundabout. But to bring it back to your problems, the Fiat Panda was recalled after 6 months of ownership to retro fit (wait for it) inner plastic mudguards…. Yep, god bless the Italians they realised without the inner guards the car would rust to pieces. Final note - it did rust to bits. It lasted 4 years and 65,000 miles and then fell apart. And that was on the salty south coast of England rather than the warm and salty south of France. Keep up the great work chaps. You are a breath of fresh air 🤓👍🏻

I don't have these wheel parts and am being told that there is no recall. On a side note and Public Service Announcement, I have been told by Citroen that there is a recall on a 'sticker' for the VIN number as something is incorrect. They gave me no further info, except that mine is on order. Curiously my VIN does not show any results on either the Spanish or French Citroen recall website --- perhaps because the VIN is wrong (hence the recall!). For a recall, the free repair was inconsequential. I would have replaced the passenger side door with a suicide one because I like Citroen 2CV look and they should have made them both to open in the same direction.
@MeandMonAmi2 жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t that mean they would have had to produce two different doors?
@NormanF622 жыл бұрын
@@MeandMonAmi I think its the same door positioned differently on the passenger side you would just need to move the hinge to correspond with it on the driver side. Citroen made everything identical to reduce the cost and the rear of the car follows the shape of the front.
@chatters79692 жыл бұрын
@@NormanF62 that’s not how it works, there is only one door produced with the handle on the left as you look at it and the hinge on the right. So it has to open opposites on each side

Cracking video, editing and superb presentation. It shows this liitle car in the exact context of everyday use it was designed for. Citroen must be as pleased as punch by this sort of coverage. The car looked really at home in Nice, even if it was a bit rainy. With Climate change lifting parts of the UK climate I think it would work as an all-year-rounder in the South of the Country and if they did an extended wheelbase version, with uprated power (40-50bhp - think FIAT 500 microbus of old) a bit more range (Sufficient for a week's worth of 10 mile each way commutes) and a modicum of crash protection, I think I'd be sold - 'cause city driving, even in London, isn't always done at sub 10 Mph - ocassionally you may want to travel on a peripherique such as the M25 or a faster urban dual carriagewayn for part of the journey.

Tim not sure how pass on this, Joanna Lumley has a new tv doco here about cities she visits. In Rome she visits an amazing cemetery thats just for non-RC people. Famous poets etc, one sadly beautiful statue and a 2000 year old pyramid. Extremely well looked after trees and hedges etc. You seem to have an interest so figured I would pass this on in case you guys get Ami to Rome.. Laurie NZ.

The Heavy Rain in Ayrshire is so bad, you can put your swimming trunks on and swim through the air. Ok! I made that up. Very Good, Funny and Informative Episode. I admit I did not know all that about the Ami. You wouldn't believe the trouble I have had trying to find a Scottish Legal Firm to take the Tory Government to The Supreme Court of Scotland. Think I will need to use an English Firm instead.

Great video, I researched this issue before I ordered a uk one, amis made before sept 2021 I think it effects, 1. no inner wheel arch guards causing lock barrel sticking issues 2. Water ingress in roof, extra seals needed 3. No diffuser in front air vents to spread the air over windscreens Some owners invented 3D printable plastic covers to stick over the lock mechanism in the wheel arch to protect it as well as diffusers that push in the dash air vents
