You gave me a demo like 4 years ago of your/this Honda, and i keep sharing how this changed my life!! I told you i am a basshead up front but also like the quality of a sq home setup.... i loved how you took your time to demo your soundsystem while people where in line to listen to this!! And i have mentioned this in verious videos on KZbin, and you reconize my comments! For people that don't know, i never thought a system like this could be so clear, and also could go stupid loud! Bass is one thing, but the front stage went louder and louder like i couldn't believe! I am still gratefull for the experience Pieter!! Thank you!!

mentioning adding aluminum to the door, Nicks Mega CLD is a great solution. thick butyl with alum. like a soda can.

I meant 1/8” thick aluminium strips! 😃 I went that crazy in a BMW E91 5 years ago where i built an SQL system and the roof needed something more drastic than just CLD.

Pete, people on the forums who have no reference of comparison or any real knowledge or experience still refuse to accept what kind of compromises they are making throwing midbasses IB into big leaky doors. They still maintain this nonsensical, delusional mindset of "well if the driver has a higher qts it's designed for free air door use and will perform just as well as a driver in a proper executed rigid/sealed enclosure". I decided this year to finally build door enclosures simply because I knew what kind of performance I was leaving on the table with IB midbasses in doors. No matter the driver or how much crap you throw in those doors they just arent going to have the snap, tonal accuracy, power handling, zero rattles/noises, and response ( 40 HZ HPF 24 DB) that even a mid level 7 inch driver will have in a solid built 8-12 liter sealed enclosure..Worth all the work...Cheers!

any tips for reinforcing rear sedan shelf for sub ? I would like to use some mats or maybe epoxy glue so it doesnt take too much space but butyl mat seems to be way too soft. Any ideas ?
@pssound974914 күн бұрын
Use something thicker like min 3-4mm and use it on both sides. Usually that does the trick. Also, make sure the pressure can get into the cabin somehow, like through the ski-hatch hole
@Jake-kb2le13 күн бұрын
@@pssound9749 I did all of that, still the shelf flexes, its not terrible but definitely introduces distortion.

Hi Peter, what do you think about capacitors for sq? I havent seen a built from you where you used one. Is there any reason? :)
@pssound974919 күн бұрын
Yes, there is, because they’re useless! 😃 Caps have to be charged from somewhere too and if there is no supply behind it with stable voltage, then what’s the point? I’d suggest to invest in lithium batteries and/or DC/DC power supply & stabiliser like we have in the S-Class Demo car. These 2 options make real difference.
@bradwarden105012 күн бұрын
@@pssound9749 A capacitor is for transient power delivery only. There is a delay comparatively in battery power because it's a chemical reaction. Reason why defibrillators must use capacitors for cardioversion for critical power delivery timing within microseconds. Then you have to ask if this type of power on demand availability will benefit a sound system? A/B it. Your midbass will be snappier. Great video BTW, as usual!!
@pssound974912 күн бұрын
@ lithium batteries are way better, especially when you have so much reserve that it doesn’t even see the amp load as any challenge. Caps were a bandaid 🩹 in the days when people had poor lead acid batteries.
