Beautiful job on the new bathroom. Dean, my mind does the same thing yours does at night. You conscious or unconsciously think of all these things that need to be done. The more you try to stop thinking about those things, the worse it gets. I finally went to a therapist, and she actually helped me. I hope you consider doing the same. Especially with a baby on the way you will need your sleep. Hugs to both of you handsome teddy bears.

Dear Dean, your work ethic is top drawer, actually both of you are perfectionists. I was like you two in my younger years and now I'm 69 years old. I’m so enjoying watching you work together to create these beautiful rooms. Just one request … PLEASE WEAR A MASK when you are cutting marble or anything else. Even though you mostly do this outside so the dust blows away, surely there are particles that you inhale without knowing. Here in Australia we are stopping the production of composite (mixed rock) kitchen/bathroom benches because cutting them without the proper safety gear is causing people lung problems - similar to asbestosis. On a happier note, you are a great team and I can’t wait for your next video to arrive on my screen😊🦘

Hello Dean - i hear your pain of your mind not turning off when you're trying to rest. I often wake at night and my brain is making lists/solutions for Work problems. I often just send myself emails or in Teams have a running list and write down the latest thoughts and visualise moving it from my mind to the document. And that helps my brain let go. It takes practice but it works well for me. Maybe practice some breathing techniques too. Gosh you've got fabulous gardens, let that seep into your brain and push out the To Do list thoughts. You can do it!

Dean!!! You need to try to practice being in the present. I was like you always planning, having back up plans to my plans, basically over thinking. I had a full total burn out and my body crashed. It's taken 2.5 years for my health to change and 6 months after the shift for the better I'm still working on getting my body strength to being able to to basic things. I know you are busy, but try taking 10 minutes to do meditation, and if you can't quite meditate yet a couple minutes of controlled breathwork helps your nervous system. Love you guys! And love all the work you have done! Thank you for sharing a window into your lives.

Dean - how you feel is very relatable. There are quite a few potential sources of the always thinking (& only relaxing on holiday) - ADHD & C-PTSD being the two I know best. But no matter the source, look into vagal nerve theory & somatic exercises to experience calm (eg box breathing). You will probably HATE it to start off with 😂 because initially trying to calm your nervous system feels awful. But it’s so so good for calming your nervous system. I found becoming a parent a huge motivator to find more peace in my body because kids are so finely tuned to what our bodies are telling them about danger and safety.

Dean you overthinking everything comes down to the fact that you don't make time for a coffee... And that's why when you're on holiday you say screw it and just power down. It takes some adjusting but it is possible to find balance. However I totally feel your pain not being able to have a restful nights sleep when there's a million things to do because I'm exactly the same. Hence when I feel it's time for that cup of tea, I enjoy it and try to switch off for 10 min. at least.

So sometimes Dean when you find yourself not being able to sleep imagine yourself being on holiday... allow yourself to shutdown and just say f#@ it, I deserve it. I found waking my body up or in the eveningputtingmy body to sleep, from my toes to my head and concentrating on channelling positive energy to each part of the body. thank you! that is super helpful! I think I also need less screen time and as you say have some time to calm my brain down before going to sleep

I'm still scarred from tiling my kitchen backsplash 2.5 years ago. Never again!

I find it quite interesting that you've not waterproofed the walls that the tiles are going on, here in Australia it's a condition, otherwise the bathroom will not be certified as A OK!

Oh that’s interesting!! Waterproofing is only ever done when you do a wet room, if there is a shower tray there is not a need

I am really surprised that you don’t have to have a waterproofing applied before you install the tiles
