Great film well put together I'm an old Rhondda Boy and this film is a true picture of many working class communities that have disappeared I was lucky to have witnessed the camaraderie and spirit of the Rhondda, but being born in the early 60's also witnessed the closure of every single Colliery I joined the military in 79 as did many of my new mates who also came from crumbling working class communities we were left with no choice with a basic education and desperate for work we took the Queens shilling. My heart goes out to people who had to face the redundancies with no new job prospects and live with that heartless Bitch Thatcher who ruined those cherished communities.

It always amazed me how close dad's in Liverpool were to their son's. I ran away from approved school with a lad from Dingle,we ended up at his house at night. The sister went to fetch her dad from the pub, and he came in,sat down, and said,"Gary son, you're breaking my heart. you're killing me, son." They ended up hugging each other. My father would have chased me with a cricket bat, shouting, "you'll get my boot up your arse." This was very touching, looking at the family, we could have done without the orange juice robbers, even if it really happened.

Jim (Eddy) is one of a kind. One of my old Krav Maga training partners. He decided to hang his gloves up at age 71, when I asked him why, he said his age is starting to catch up with him! Was always in awe of how he could keep up in sparring with people half his age, and in most cases outwork them.

Just stumbled upon this film and thoroughly enjoyed it. A very touching, yet true portrayal of how the communities we once had have gone to desolation, drugs and apathy. Looking at the end credits, I presume this was a true story with the producer playing a cameo role? That must have been a hard job to do. But a great contribution that may just hopefully make a difference and open the eyes of the opiated nation to whats really going on in our once strong communities.. I truly hope so. Great effort. Great film. Thank you!

So here I am from facebook after Jonny Hirst pointed it out. It was almost bedtime and saw the running time of 45 minutes. I said to myself OK, I'll watch a few minutes then get myself off to bed and watch the rest tomorrow. However, once I started watching I was hooked and watched it all the way through (Now my wife is going to kill me) It was a great film with great acting and the DoP, Director and the rest of the crew did a great job. There were some errors but all in all, it was brilliant and well worth a watch. Well done!

I enjoyed that film. It was engaging and thought provoking but it didnt do much to dispel the myth of the Scouse stereotype. There was too much of the usual unemployed/skint/violent/pictures of The Beatles bollocks for me. I live at the other end of the M62 in Hull and it is an equally deprived area that has been on its arse for years so I understand where you are coming from but not everybody here is a drug addict, dealer or a violent bully. The victim and his family were an oasis in the desert of humanity but were sinking in the filth that surrounded them. I will be thinking about the questions raised by this film over the next few days and its impact on me. Whoever wrote and directed this film has definitely got something and in terms of landing a message, job done.

A hard grafted film done with no support of the usual helping hands of certain productions, a coming together of creative individuals hoping to enhance themselves and each other , and bring a light to overlooked issues, the production could be on another level given access to the departments of well paid creatives hopefully more to come with a realisation of what can be achieved in all avenues, x

Knocked down the high rises knocked down our estates. Made their money 10 fold. One thing i dont understand is landlords dont give af. So well go back to slums until thwy build like the 30s/40s. Funny how places like hillside get knocked down and the houses the stayed look fine now. Just pure greed and no fucks given.

With the recent arrests of some high profile figures in Liverpool, you'd hope it would fix some of the problems around fixing up empty buildings but alas, not a chance. I suspect they've only arrested the tip of the iceberg and won't go any further. Sadly, we all joked about certain high profile people getting backhanders and it turns out it was true. Nothing like robbing from your own.

@@tazzatamaniathat’s been going on for decades in Liverpool, the big money makers were council members and leaders in the 80s ( mentioning no names) cough Degsy when the international garden festival started and all it’s offshoots that made serious money for them and also linked with that the regeneration of the docks mainly the Albert dock. It made some of them absolute fortunes, they’ve stripped this city away with their utter greed.

I echo the positive comments already made. For far too many years the population of Liverpool has been way too dense, certainly in relation to the amount of legal opportunities realistically available to those living there. Some people will lay the blame for this on immigration. Others on locals bringing more babies into the world than they ever had a hope of financially supporting. The true root cause? I don't know. What I do know is that the way the city has changed over the past 40-or-so years is beyond sad.

Im from Liverpool and sorry am I missing something? The narrative was poor, the use of music was poor, the audio was poor, some acting was good but some of it was poor again and alot of the scenes felt slow, dragged with no energy. I get it's not a high end budget, but looking at the quality of camera they was using I would of expected a slightly better production, for an intense film, I felt no intensity at all
