You should be proud for keeping level heads. It's experiences like this that you learn from and before you know where you are you are able to get yourselves out of nearly any situation. I would recommend investing in a decent set of hand tools though. 😉👍

We have always found the volunteer lockies at Wilmcote flight very helpful. We have also loved Stratford upon Avon each time we have been there - however it is the only place where tourists have actually climbed on our boat to take selfies! You have done well to get three years before your first breakdown.

I had a friend mention that i've appeared in one of your videos. I'm really glad that you've got it sorted. If you or anyone watching needs to get it out of gear you can disconnect the cable from the little leaver on the gearbox and put the keaver in the center. At a push to get somewhere safe to moor you can manually select the gear with that leaver. Just be carful near all the stuff that moves.

Here is a tip when it comes to spreading butter or jam on toast use the back of the spoon its much easier to spread your jam on toast

Well done on conquering your first breakdown and finding a good mooring! There have been a few great moorings where we have removed our Jess's poop because that is the correct thing to do, instead of leaving it as a marker for you 😂

If it has cables up top they most likely go to a lever on the gearbox that can, normally, be turned by hand.

You both handled your breakdown really well. It was great that you got going again the same day. Our first ever canal boat holiday was Alvechurch to Stratford-upon-Avon and back, quite a few years ago now. It was over 100 locks over the week. We soon became experts. Enjoy the town, it's really lovely although is very touristy. Your chips looked yummy and were very well deserved 😊

Do you have an archive box to keep all of your user guides, service manuals, receipts and service and maintenance info. To help you keep them all in one place so you can easily find the replacement part numbers just incase of any future gremlins ps I now have a proper chippy dinner cravings they looked so good 🤗🤗

One question I’d like to ask is where or when is there a good time to break down? Even if you are in a marina how much leeway do they give you for being broken down? Wouldn’t there be some sort of harborage fee? Gary from Chugabug had to call someone from the CRT to get an emergency extension on their mooring stay time because of either mechanical or electrical problems.😊

Hello U2, I just started watching. I’m only a little bit into it… And I think where I paused it Amy you’re just about after you said well that was going well… And you’re looking at me as I’m writing this I just didn’t want to forget it cause I thought it was a very cute thing. You showed the pictures of. I’m not sure what they’re called now again because I don’t have a boat I live in the USA as I’ve said the thing some people have tires.
