Yeah absolutely I think I'm going to continue testing this on different spots. And I think each time I do this I'm going to try to set up a control at the same time as my experimental plot.

Like your willing to try it, and the balance way you do it and analize it. Still a lot of variables... i always think about the temperature effecton the roots (heat stimulation) and the fact that the wire acts as a anti compacting effect, helping roots as well. Anyway, tanks.

In some respects its almost impossible not to have some confounding variables on such a small test. I would guess that in order to really test this you would need many more test plots for both the control and the electroculture. so the best I can say for what I observed is: hmmm....isn't this interesting

From what I have seen you have to have the wire attached to a antenna 20 feet high 👍🤙✌️

Actually both are complementary to each other. The antenna approach was explored by many, but recently Yannick Van Doorne has done a lot of research on both processes.

Hi Sir, I want to ask you about the Life cycle of the two different kind of plants Have they the same cycle or the electrcultred had continue to harvest If yes how much time comparing with the non-electrocultered Thanks 👍
@BareMtnFarm
@BareMtnFarm 7 күн бұрын
The electroculture tomatoes have continued to produce more tomatoes and have a longer harvest time than the non-electroculture tomatoes.

This is fascinating! I’ve seen electroculture videos, but never using magnets and burying the wire. Is there anyone else in your area into the soil food web that has a microscope to see if the fungal and microbes are either different or different population numbers?? So interesting! Keep going!! According to Elaine Ingam, crusiferous veg like kale don’t like fungally dominant soils but bacterial dominant ones. So if kale doesn’t do well, that may be a clue that the fungal population is being affected by the electroculture. Probably not, but fun to think about.

That's a good idea to check the biology out. I'm thinking some lab soil tests would be useful too.

They aren't both in the centre of the poly. Your control needs to be in exactly the same environment as the test plants. Pests etc are going to have much easier access to the beans planted beside an open vent, than those in the centre. They also most likely aren't getting the same warmth in the soil as those in the centre.

Good thoughts! The things you suggest might indeed be contributing factors although the electroculture bed was right next to the main open door of the tunnel so I'm not sure the bugs had a competitive advantage with access. I think in general to do a true test to control for these confounding factors you need to have many test plats for both the control and the test. But these results were interesting.

@@BareMtnFarm Aye, you'd want a decent number of beds, the more, the better. Even within the same bed, you can have variations in plant health/growth. The fact, commercial greenhouses aren't doing this. Would strongly suggest that this is either of limited/no real benefit. Space within a poly, or greenhouse, is prize real estate on any farm. So, if there's a way to get more/better crops per square yard. You can bet they would be doing it. Which is also why so many opt for going hydroponic, if they can. Because it uses less water, gives you pretty much total control, and isn't dependent on improving an existing site. You could do almost anything to a soil and notice a difference. But that doesn't mean it's worthwhile, or repeatable. Plus, the gardening world is full of gimmicks/myths. People tend to think if something is more complicated, then it must work better. I'm all for people trying these things out. An enquiring mind is no bad thing for any gardener/farmer. I have seen people get lots of views promoting putting a cracked raw egg in the hole for each tomato plant. Or sprays for blossom end rot etc. Which is pointless, and in the case of sprays etc a waste of money as well. What would be interesting with your trial. Is to have a look at the soil microbiology. They live in the water between soil partials, and are mostly water themselves. If the turn-over rate is increased, then the plants should have access to more nutrients.

Intriguing. As you say lots of variables, including relative positioning in the tunnel, but hey, once it's in, should be good for a few years til the wire finally rusts away.

Well, I did get 4 harvests off the electroculture plants versus 3 on the control. But honestly I can't say with definitive certainty that electroculture was the reason. So it was fun to try things that are different.

Good job. I understand this is still anecdotal, however, I appreciate your balanced look at the whole thing. Many others seem to just run to one side or the other of this and either call it ridiculous and it doesn't work at all or the other side emphatically says how wonderful it is. I haven't conducted any experiments on my own yet, but I plan to. I feel/think that there is something to it mostly because of how everything in nature is connected electrically including ourselves. I do believe that soil health is a lot more important, but if we can take things a bit further with something simple like this, why not. Also, just because something like this doesn't "work" doesn't mean much either. How do we know that we are doing it optimally? This is a new, or rather renewed, experiment from our past. Thanks, and keep us posted!

Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment. I'm going to keep experimenting with this to see if the results are repeatable. I'm also going to set up some additional plots to test other vegetables and flowers. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

What is it supposed to do though? And why align to earth's magnetic field? I mean the earth's magnetic field is static and therefore will not cause any induction in the wire whatsoever? You only have a change in the electrical field when there is a change in the magnetic field. You don't have that here. It doesn't make any sense. And even if it did what is a magnetic field or electricity supposed to do to a plant?
