I am French and I really enjoy Italian cuisine, your recipes are authentic recipes from the south of Italy.. Listening to you, I have the impression of being in a restaurant like in the American movies about the New York Mafia!! I have a hard time understanding you at times because you have a pronounced New York accent, fortunately the subtitles help me.. Bravo for the detailed explanations of this recipe, all that's left to do is imitate you, we'll enjoy it in advance

Gentlemen: You both look very familar, my name is Neal D'Elia, you may remember me because I am an Identical twin born in Williamsburg. I lived on Orient Ave., by Copper Park. My cousin Sonny bartendered at the Motion Lounge. I stayed on the corner of the "Dead Wagon Inn. It's always nice to hear that guys from the old neighborhood made it! Congratulations on your success!!!

@@BrooklynBrothersCooking Yes a very small world or very special place Wlliamsburg is, it was a great place to grow up, a lot of characters. It was a cast of Thousands! Orient Ave. was the block down from the CARVAEL. Olive Stree was on one side and Metropolitan Ave. was on the other side. Then Bushwick. You wouldn't recognize it now, it's become what they call in sociology transiate.

I’ve been running into your videos on my feed for a few months now, and every time I watch one I end up craving some Italian food dammit lol. So I subbed. I’m the cook of our house. Everything I make is home made and my family can’t get enough. My wife, bless her, can’t cook but maybe 3 dishes good haha, otherwise it comes out of a box or a can with her. Now I got a line on some real authentic Italian recipes with you guys. Thanks. I’m definitely going to try making some. By the way, she’s Polish and I am Lakota Sioux, no Italian blood in either one of us but we sure do love the cuisine !

I have no love at all for veal. But this recipe is very similar to what I've used for a long time. It works well with beef shank, pork leg, lamb shank just as well. I tend to serve it with gnocchi; one of my favorite pastas to make. Oh, and I also prefer to use my own stock blending chicken and beef stock (for this dish) together. This prevents the sauce from having a particular flavor of one kind of other meat. The mixture blends together keeping the meat as the STAR of the dish. The gnocchi is the stage, and the sauce is the orchestra and the rest of the cast for this dinner performance. 🙂

What is the difference between Osso Buco and Lamb Shanks? They look completely different. EDIT: Ahh. The Osso Buco is from veil (Young cows). I always thought Osso Buco was from pig as my family (extended) would use it to make Pea and Ham soup. I was a bit confused as you were talking about them being shanks. (the Osso Buco).

Love Making this Dish Old School. Responding to the last comment I left on antihero dish. Williamsburg remember aa a kid grandparents had the brown stone in park slope since my great grandparents came from Italian. Fahrenheit Grew up in the Slop John Jay Hugh School. Back then Park Slope and Williamsburg were not great neighborhoods lol. They really built that yup in the 90's when the yuppies came in. Just glad we got to grow up in the REAL NYC we it was the best of times. Now? Never coming back sad. Again I'm Bensonhurst but people think the gangsters were my neighborhood nope! All originated in South Brooklyn.

I may or may not have licked the screen of my phone, I'll never tell ... lamb 🤢, stick with the veal! Brooklyn has changed so much since we lived there, the old neighborhood is not the same anymore.

@@dominicksimonetti6726 I didn't even bother going to the Saint Rosalia Feast this year, I go every year, but when I went last year, 18th Avenue looked like Chinatown, it was so sad. At least I was able to get my DaVinci Pizza!
