When I saw the fried fish and the Modelo beer I recalled when I was in Mex as a young software engineer being sent to different cities for work and training . . . what a good life that was .. . try the dark "bohemia" or "Negra Modelo" beer . . perfect for fine dining . .. that beach is wonderful .. . greetings

If you stick to main highways and developed rv parks you'll be fine. You just won't be able to go off the beaten track much without just taking your tow car. It's a lovely place to spend a winter! - Liz

Have you had any issues finding diesel exhaust fluid [DEF] in Mexico, or do you bring your own?

Our vehicle doesn't require DEF. but I believe it's fairly easy to get here. There lots of walmarts, etc that have it in bigger towns. - Liz

We understand, we were concerned with safety when we first visited as well. But we've been met with nothing but kindness and have felt very safe throughout the country. It doesn't mean crime and things can't happen, but I think it's less likely than you may be expecting or thinking. It helps to know what to expect and what you're doing going into. Dennis , as a mex friend , you are welcome to bargain your price down Ej. the boat ride , they give you 1500 but you can offer 1000 , or at the end take 1500 for the hole day.
