I'm a U.S. ex pat whose lived in Campeche for 7 years. Totally recommend it. Laid back friendly place and during pre-covid times very cultural with free concerts in the city square every weekend and big Christmas concerts all for free. I'm sure these will be returning post covid as well

Campeche looks like great opportunity. I'm sure you guys will make the right decision. Another great video. Currently, my house is under contract, closing in 4 weeks, and preparing to go full RVing. One of the things I'm doing is learning how to edit videos for my channel (which will be under a different name and isn't published yet). I've come to really appreciate people like you who create content. Your editing is great, along with the content, and most of all, your personalities make for some really enjoyable, interesting, and captivating videos. I hope I'll be able to produce similar quality on my channel in the future. Thx for the inspiration....you guys rock!

definitely an interesting opportunity. the city looks great as a choice for a home base. personally I'm not a big fan of living in a golf course community. I probably wouldnt use any of the facilities. loved the part on the beach though! my personal preference would be either living right in the old city or somewhere a bit secluded right on the water. and I'm more partial to the mountainous landscapes of the Pacific coast. good luck with whatever you end up deciding...

Hey guys , from someone whose family owns multiple properties in three different cities in Mexico real estate is not as liquid as it is in the U.S.A. You guys are very young so time is on your side. It may be best to try to pick the next upcoming spot that you would like to live. That way you will maximize your appreciation. Maybe a smaller city that is up and coming, so your on the ground floor. You know the old saying opinions are like rear ends we all have one and ours doesn't sink. So many places in Mexico to chose from. I like B.C.S. best of luck!!!

Merida is a trap, an illusion. The illusion of Merida is easy to take down. Just walk through any fancy neighborhood in Merida filming. You will get escorted by the Police right away. Merida, since it's on the Gulf, has to have the same malarial climate as New Orleans and the rest of the swamps that border the Gulf of Mexico. If one likes to live in a permanent state of feeling like you need to take a shower . . . if one somehow is comfortable with 100% humidity (or close to it), then I suppose it's possible to live in these conditions and in the cities that lie within the Gulf environment.

Are there always 18 holes? lol 😝 I thought foreigners couldn’t directly own within some distance from the coast (50 km?) There is a trust or something.... ??? I’ve only vaguely paid attention to the details from the Two Expats Mexico videos.

Yes Karen and Greg can explain the details. But your right, ownership in Mexico's coast has rules.

Why would you buy there? How would that be different than some compound in Florida ?

Why would they buy there? Aside from being in a better, safer, friendlier, country, more affordable, nicer people, way better food, better weather, and more financially convenient?? Gee Kendall, I don't know... What a dumb question

Very very very different. Yes, climate is similar but the culture, country, politics, food, is all different as others said.

@@EatSeeRV imho, way more charming places to buy all over Mexico than condo complexes on golf courses, including some of the great, cute non condo non golf course towns that you’ve showed us.

It's warm in the summer months especially with it's proximity to the yucatan, but it's lovely in winter/dry months. And rain cools it down a bit in the rainy season. I didn't deal with bugs there but we had a bad spell in Isla Aguada after the tropical storm. - Liz

Why would there be a conflict of interest? People promote products, goods, or other services all the time because they are paid for it but also because they believe in it. We disclosed we were getting paid to promote it. And we didn't say buy a condo or don't follow us. If it made sense for us financially we would have bought one. - Liz

I appreciate your videos but promoting those kind of construction is very negative. Have you thought the horrible impact in the environment these kind of construction companies produce? Have you though if the money from this companies is legitimate or comes from the Narcos? But mainly do you know what do these kind of construction do yo the nature and architecture of the city? It’s in our hands to protect our planet and to preserve the culture and history of the places we have the fortune to be in. There are many houses or land that you can buy that won’t have such terrible impact in the environment nor in the economy or culture of the region. I encouraged to search and research before buying there and specially before promoting these horrible buildings. It is our responsibility to take care of our planet. And as Mexican I can tell you that your are welcome to Mexico, mi casa es su casa, but you won’t destroy your house right? So don’t do that in our house either. Thank you

Hi Marysol, I understand your concern. This development is being completed by a reputable company. Its impact on the environment isn't exceeding what already exists. The development of the golf & country club is already there, this is simply being built on top of that. We are big advocates for helping the earth and making sure your choices and actions leave as minimal of an impact as possible. It seems you're not a fan of communities like this, which is fine. But it doesn't mean others should be shunned if they do enjoy them, especially if it's not harming the area. - Liz

This is disturbing, people going in and buying up land and starting these resorts and making it worse for the locals, just like Hawaii. People can’t afford to live in their own place anymore. For the few that will get jobs there it won’t help.

Videos are cool. Kind of a bummer that the lady doesn't even try to pronounce things correctly or ever wear a mask. The dude at least tries kind of. One video I saw she even pulled off his mask, "You don't need this." Uh, yeah... you do (especially when visiting a country outside of your own and a country that is disproportionately affected by COVID-19). Just because you can afford to see the doctor doesn't mean the people that you come into contact can. Not sure if you need a lecture on how the BIPOC community is more affected by pandemics than White people but come on. It's honestly colonizer behavior visiting a foreign place and spreading your germs. Mask up!

Glad you like our videos Jesse, but this comment is so unnecessary, unhelpful, and simply untrue. The time your referencing when I said he didn't need it anymore, was because we were outdoors at an archeological zone with NO ONE ELSE around. There were two people there. The point in time when I said that, was after we left the area they were in and finished speaking with them as we wore our masks. I take my mask off for the camera very intentionally. You don't know us. You don't know our behaviors off camera, and your not our critic. You see a very small and catered m portion of our life. In regards to our pronunciation and speaking spanish all I can say is at least we try. I speak far more spanish than most gringos who come here and we both put a lot of effort into learning the language. This community is a positive one. There's nothing wrong with helpful tips to improve the quality or experience of our videos as it relates to viewer experience. But the comments isn't an area to rant about your theories of us or to belittle and bully others. Stay around if you can be kind but if our videos (and pronunciation or mask wearing) bothers you -- go elsewhere! - Liz
