Well I'm sitting in the hospital after my first heart attack and changing some things now

I felt pretty shaken the morning after I woke up in hospital after having had a stroke. Somehow the urgency to make major changes becomes very real, and in sharp focus. I wish you the best and hope you have medical people who'll encourage you to embrace healthier habits and not just prescribe medication.

One time you CAN put boiled potatoes in a blender is when there is mixed with plenty of nutmilk and whatever other ingredients such as nutritional yeast. (Great texture is gotten for making a base for chile con queso!) Just don't put too many potatoes. Start SMALL.

Please I need some help. I am new to this way of eating, 6 weeks now, so I thought I would go to my Dr have everything checked. I am healthy praise God. The Dr was very impressed with most of my diet except for calcium. It is recommended I either take a calcium supplement or have 3 serves of dairy a day and oily fish 2 to 3 times a week. I want to know if plant based whole food supplies enough calcium

I thought Oatley has oil in it ☹️
@exileinil
@exileinil Жыл бұрын
Most major brands of oat milk do do have oil added (or lecithin, which is basically the same thing). One exception to this is Simply Oat (original), however that does have a little sugar and salt added (a pretty small amount though, not as much as some other plant milk). Joi foods makes a powdered oat milk that is just pure oats and nothing else, but it's ridiculously expensive. I tried making homemade oat milk once and it was a total fail. I usually use an organic unsweetened soy milk, which has no added oil. Or occasionally I'll get Simply Almond, their original unsweetened one is just almonds, water, and a tiny bit of salt.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, oatley does make a "low fat" oat milk that does not have oil (it's in the white carton), but my local stores don't carry it anymore, so that's why I didn't think of it right away. Maybe you'll have better luck. 😺
