Do you think I can use oyster mushrooms for the gravy instead of those white ones ?

White whole wheat? No idea where I’d find that in AK. I have all purpose and I have whole wheat? Hmm, I guess I’ll try and mix the two half-and-half and see what happens. Fingers crossed.

Your dad’s book is called prevent and reverse so I thought that meant we should also avoid high fats and I noticed a lot of your recipes have fats. Can you explain this?

Thank you for this recipe! I have most of your cookbooks and esp Be A Plant-Based Woman Warrior cookbook. My son requests this lasagna each Thanksgiving. It’s just the two of us so I like the fact I have leftovers portioned out in the freezer. LOVE your videos! Please continue providing us with healthy flavorful recipes.

Agreed that sliced mushrooms are so convenient but I’d only buy them if you’re using immediately since they get brown and gross so fast. They are high in the same enzyme that turns apples brown so they spoil very quickly once sliced

I do not have non stick pan , instead I put wet parchment paper inside the pen ,poured grinder lentil mixture with flex seeds and water ,bake 400F for 25 minutes . It baked perfectly , without any oil .

I took a stab at this recipe and below is my version. I like to batch cook, so this became my dinners for the week. And since it's going to be my dinners, I like to do all-in-one, one-pot meals -- thus, I added the beans, making it more of a complete meal. This really hit the spot; it's delicious! 😋 ===================================== EASY, EASY CURRIED RICE WITH RAISINS Serves: 13 or about 8 (3 cup) servings Total Time: 2 hours (from the moment you step into your kitchen, to all the prep, to the making of it, to when it is completely done) INGREDIENTS -- 3 cups uncooked California, organic, brown basmati rice (cook separately -- add to pot at end -- GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY) -- 1 cup orange juice -- 4 medium-sized red onions (dice) -- 2 green bell peppers (diced) -- 2 red bell peppers (diced) -- 1 cup California raisins (they are oil-free) -- 4 (15 oz.) cans of kidney beans (no salt) (do not drain and rinse -- use juice) -- 2 (1 lb.) containers of mushrooms (sliced) -- 4 bunches of fresh cilantro (finely dice big stems, add to Step 1 below -- chop leaves, add to Step 3 below) -- 1 TBS. cayenne pepper -- 3 TBS. Mrs. Dash -- 2 TBS. garam masala INSTRUCTIONS 1) In a large pot, on medium-high heat, add the bell peppers, onions, and cilantro stems. Cover. Cook until onions soften. Stir periodically. 2) Add mushrooms, beans, raisins, cayenne pepper, Mrs. Dash, garam masala, and orange juice. Cover. Cook until mushrooms soften a bit and raisins plump up slightly. [NOTE: I brought it up to a little bit of a simmer and cooked for a few minutes.] 3) Turn off heat. Add cilantro leaves and cooked rice. Give it all a good stir. Serve hot.

I use a step stool when I take my dog to the self service dog wash because the glass I have to reach over is too high to wash him really well. Had not thought of it for mashing potatoes! Thanks you! 💜

I am going to start on Dec 2nd and be plant based for first time in my life. I have type 2 diabetes and 3 heart stents at 68 yrs old. I want some energy back, I have none. I hope it works. You make it look fun and easy.

If the pan sticks a bit, deglaze with a tablespoon or two of pickle juice. Works like a charm and cuts a bit of the starch.

I found the Glutino pretzels 🥨here, but they have palm oil. I guess they started adding it too. 🙁 I'm going to try this with the Rold Gold pretzel sticks that someone suggested below (their twists have oil, but apparently the sticks don't).
