Just an FYI for Ian, cut out processed "food" and that which is high in carbs. Majority of calories can come from protein and fat. Cut out all seed oils, use unrefined Coconut oil, EV olive oil, perhaps avacado. Cut out carbs, starchy veg., fruit, etc. There's carnivore and/or keto to look into. can still have filling meals but if you do 2 a day, it is important to allow about 16 hours from last meal to the next day, aka intermittent fasting. Look into the above, just an fyi.
@abritishaudiophile73142 жыл бұрын
Thank you NC. I do intermittent fasting 😊
@StellarAudyssey2 жыл бұрын
It’s about lowering your carbohydrate intake if it is too high, and for most people it is. There’s no need to cut out carbohydrates completely for the vast majority of people, as only a small minority of people would benefit from such a no carbohydrate diet. All oils should be moderated to avoid calorie surplus. Coconut oil isn’t the “healthy option” it’s made out to be, and should be moderated like all other oils. Protein intake should be kept low, if longevity and health-span are paramount. Time restricted eating is great. Again, the eating window is variable depending on the person and their goals.
@nc34192 жыл бұрын
@@StellarAudyssey What makes you think low protein intake increases longevity and health-span? Good protein repairs the body and is needed for other body functions. While I don't think cutting out carbs completely is needed, rather keeping the intake lower and cutting out processed "foods" is a must for better outcomes regarding longevity and health-span. Too many people, at least in the States, if not elsewhere suffer from some sort of metabolic issues, specifically related to sugar, wheat, processed foods and additives, etc. That means diabetes and for audiophiles, or anyone who values their hearing, let alone sight, health, etc., stand to benefit from lowering their carb intake. While there are quality issues regarding protein and fats, as in know where your food is sourced and how it's grown/caught, that's what we should be consuming mostly, IMO. Of course there's more to this...educating oneself on healthy eating is a must and a personal decision as to how they'll do it.

I own the Wharfedale Denton 80 and have to say they are staggeringly good value for the sound they produce, currently available in UK for £349. Good bass for their size, excellent midrange and slightly rolled off treble, with a slightly relaxed but full presentation, at least in my system. Avoid the Wharfedale 85th Anniversary edition, which I found to be very exciting but revealed excessive sibilance, particularly with female vocals.

I've heard very good things regarding the new reserve line from Polk (from people who didn't like or cared for polk speakers till now) and also Arendal 1961 bookshelf speakers and would really like to have your opinion on them. I have Elac debut b5.2s right now and am happy with them but always looking to upgrade :) I chose them over the Spektor 2s - as well as Mission Lx-2 mkiis and q acoustics 3020is - for the ease of placement (they are front ported) and for being versatile as I listen to lots of different music genres. They are neutral and even though they don't excel in anything they are good in almost every aspect. Having this in mind (versatility , ease of placement and a neutral or warmish tonality) and knowing that I listen to music in low/ moderate volume levels in a medium small room at around 10 feet from the speakers what would your top 3 picks be? (toppin off at 500/600 pounds)
@fletchermunson62252 жыл бұрын
Jose, Check out Erin's Audio Corner for a review on the Arendal bookshelves. I too was curious until I saw the review because the larger model with the two mid/woofs got some good reviews. Apparently not so much with the two way. I heard enough to put me off due to lack of bass and high end issues. It looks like they just took a sealed box surround speaker and repurposed it to a "bookshelf" speaker. It is a sealed box and needs subwoofer. I think they should have redesigned it to a Bass reflex design with a port or passive radiator to flush out the bottom end. Moving on and I would like to also hear a review of the Lumina II and the more expensive AE 500 speakers.

@@fletchermunson6225 I've seen that review and others and they've all said good things about that speaker, even when using in a stereo application. Still I'd like to have Tarun's input. @rosswarren4362 жыл бұрын
The original B6 had more bass, a bump you can consider it and it amazed people back then, but later for the B6.2 Andrew dialed it back a bit to end up with a more balanced speaker. Even at its moderate sensitivity, I have no trouble driving the B6.2 with a modest 80W/channel AVR in my computer room and it plays plenty loud. Since it is more neutral sounding, I use them for mixing and EQing live recordings I do of bands to put up on the Internet Live Music Archive, and I think they serve very well in that application. They (like most bookshelf speakers) would benefit from a sub-woofer.

Not all speakers at any price point are as "good" as others (from watching videos done by G-R Research I've seen $4000 speakers that used awful responding drivers and very cheap sound smearing crossover components, showing that buyers need to beware), so we can only answer that question with generalities of what we are "supposed" to get by spending more money. My experience and insight from watching all these "audiophiles" on KZbin and discussions at brick-and-mortar stores over the years is simply this: That as you go up in price, the speakers should become more transparent to the music. You should hear more of the attack of musical notes, whether by guitar, piano, drums, or cymbals, or other instruments. They should sound like they are more real. Can you hear "texture" in the bass guitar or does it sound like one note? Pianos are one of the hardest instruments to record and even harder for speakers to do a good job of making them sound as if they are really in your room. Most speakers fail at this task, but some do better than others of course. Then there is the tonality to consider. How "neutral" to the source are the speakers? Do notes decay naturally? Does a Saxaphone or coronet sound like it should? How dynamic are the speakers? Are they able to go from barely playing a sound to the crescendo of an orchestra without strain? (Assuming your amplifier, the other part of the equation, is capable of that as well). Going up in price is supposed to get you more out of the music, at least as much as possible from what is there in it. Some of this is subtle. Many people might not ever notice much difference, but for those who listen intently to the sound quality as well as the "music" such small gains mean a lot to their enjoyment. I use the analogy of wine. You could grab a person at random off the street and give them two glasses of wine, one from a $10, the other from a $1000 bottle, and have them compare without telling them which is which. Some might not know which is "better". Some might even think the $10 wine tastes better than the $1000. A person has to be educated and clued in on what to taste for and to consider. Another example is TV. Some people really don't notice the improvement in picture quality from HD to 4K or even 8K. Audio speaker quality is similar. At the end of the day, it is all an illusion. Just as no TV, no matter the resolution and color depth, actually looks like you are "there". A speaker with a vibrating piece of paper, wood pulp, aluminum, beryllium, titanium, or cloth will NEVER sound the same as a real musical instrument, but the fact that they can come pretty darn close gives those of us who care about the music some hope of better enjoying it along our "audiophile" journey. I think the best thing is to try seeking out a chance to hear speakers and make comparisons for yourself. What you think sounds best and what I think sounds best might not be the same. Objective measurements matter, but subjective impressions do too. Good luck if you decide to get something "better" one day, but remember, it is the music and how it makes us feel that is the most important thing. P.S. The only somewhat "negative" review I've ever heard regarding the B6.2 was something about their midrange not being as good as other similarly priced speakers, but to me, they sound fine. Especially if you catch them on sale. I was torn between getting the B6.2 and DBR 6-2, but finding the B6.2 for such a good price made the decision for me.

As I love Chord’s precision and soundstage depth .. also I have heard that expensive chord Dacs sounds thinner ..

stop talking nonsense... do you ever heard a good ,bookshelf, like a Genelec 8351, Unity Audio Super Rock, Neumann KH310, Sky Audio Verdade II.... ? I dont think so because theyre way better than MANY floorstanding speakers. And external Subs / DBA are way better for the room than an all in one package...

@@vtkz lolZ. Next your gonna tell me a small ice cream is better than a large ice cream. You just can't afford the big brother of the ones you mentioned, just face it. If the big ones were a lesser speaker they wouldn't be made in the first place. Go ahead, talk with your smaller pocketbook making the purchasing decisions but don't tell me that they are better.
