I spent many happy days in Llangrannog as a child in the seventies as we often had holidays in New Quay. Llangrannog and Cwmtydu were the two beaches we most often visited. Thank you for bringing back a lot of happy memories.

I am English and first visited Llangrannog in August 1961 - the girl that I loved (who was Welsh) drove me there in her Dads´s car and we sat on the beach which was considerably less crowded than today - in fact we were the only ones on it! I will NEVER forget Llangrannog or the wonderful lady who introduced me to the place - regretably our relationship did not work out - but I still remember them both with great affection.

Ah, Llangranog. We used to have family holidays there the best part of 60 years ago. Lovely little town and wonderful beaches - we used to like the one you pointed out that you can access at low tide. Misjudged the tide a few times and had to walk over the hill to get back to the car. All part of the fun. Great to see the town thriving. Must go back and visit again.

Oh Carly what a lovely video. You are such a natural presenter. We went to llangrannog about 3 years ago for our first time later in the year. Pizza place was only eatery open. Needless to say we were not disappointed, amazing meal. Didn't go back last year as heard of parking problems but hopefully again soon. You mentioned Aberporth, my favourite place. Look forward to you doing a review on that (and maybe Crymych, where we stayed). All good wishes to you, Ian and the Hub family xx

Excellent video Miss Hubnut - full of interesting info delivered with clarity and passion! Interesting that moves to preserve the Welsh language were happening so long ago - in the 70's my family holidayed in Wales, staying regularly at a farm in Llandeilo Graban (near Erwood, less neer to Builth Wells) - the farmer didn't speak any Welsh (despite having been born on the farm), yet his sons (now in there mid-fifties to late 40s) were learning Welsh at school. Amazing how close the world came to Welsh dieing out! My wife learned some Welsh when studying in Aberystwyth (and tried to teach me - the only thing I can remember is Tan Sam (Fireman Sam) as we watched some episodes on S4C in the early 90s!). She loved the alphabet so much she wanted to call our daughter Guinevere, but with the Welsh spelling Gwynhfyr - it looks so much prettier when written down! May I be so bold as to hazard a guess that Carly is not spelt in English?

Yes, I love the stories too, not only hearing them but also knowing that they have been handed down through so many generations and still survive. The beauty of the Welsh coast never ceases to evoke inspiration in me, a truly inspirational place for artists, poets, writers and creative persons. So good for the soul, and this translates beautifully, seamlessly, through your video.

Fun to see Llangrannog again; I've not been there for years. Natually my primary school offered trips to the Urdd (I didn't go), and their Mr. Urdd mascot character was everywhere. Well done Miss HN, I too think Llangrannog is the No1 place to visit. I first went there in 1989 and returned so many times either camping or staying in the cottage that was owned by The Ship Inn, simply fell in love. We would go every January to enjoy a New Year break, I loved this village as much in the Winter as I did in the Summer I am ashamed to say that we did not know the story of Cranogwen, and that we haven't be back for 25 years !. Maybe Jan 24 we will meet up with a very old friend.

Great video Carly. You are obviously getting more comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Although Llangrannog is still not very well known, there are many families from the West Midlands who have holidayed there for several generations. There's an opportunity for you to do another video about the Lochtyn hillfort and peninsula above the village.

Just found this video some 9 months late. Great production. Llangrannog is great… in Winter when the tourists go home. The very narrow road down to the Pentre is a nightmare at peak traffic times as it has few passing places. The other issue is that it is mostly holiday homes, or at least used to be. Fairly sure that at one time this was a smugglers cove. Wasn’t Twm Sion Cati here or a very near cove?

Did Cranogwen ever sleep? That's a full life for sure. Makes me feel like a right slacker! These videos have made me realise I've only ever seen a few bits of Wales and I've been there loads over the years, I've worked there, I've been on holiday there, my mate went to Bangor universty so I spent a lot of time there although memories of that time are sketchy... I could have holidays in Wales every year for the rest of my life and never visit the same place twice.

I went to Yr urdd back in the later end of the 70's. Loved the whole experience, even swimming in the pool that had no heating next to the stable block. Oh and going for a bike ride, we got half way down the little lane from the camp down to the village when a hail storm began. Our instructor told us to go back cos the hail was the size of hazelnuts and the girls starting crying with the pain of being hit with them. So many more very fond memories of a 5 day stay at the camp. I've been back several times since the last being 30 years ago. Will go back sometime, if I can organise time to do the area justice.

Thanks for another enjoyable video, we visited here in early May and its a lovely place, great food in Pentre, Caffi Patio and the pizza restaurant was fantastic. Its better to park at the top and walk down if you can, bus was not running when we were there. Its ok if able bodied and there are a few routes, just keep going down. A warning about the car park at the bottom, one evening we parked and the pay machine was out of action so could not use coins, there is no internet signal with some carriers and also no phone signal in the village. The wifi provided for the machine was so slow we were not able to use it so had to go into the pub to use theirs and by that time the ten minutes allowed to pay had expired and when we returned home had a bill for £100 as they use ANPR on entry. There are lots of complaints about this on line so if you are unable to pay on arrival leave the car park, I understand some local people are just as unhappy about this as visitors. Please keep making these videos when you can and have the time, we always look forward to the next one.
