This is why homeschooling is awesome, because children don’t learn the bad habits of others and are willing to help out their parents. We homeschooled our daughter and she now has her masters in special education. She is a teacher for children with special needs. Love you guys 👍

There is no best way. Only what works in your family. What children need is not taught in any school. - kindness, tolerance, consequences, think for themselves, ask questions, the value of hard work, earning and saving money for extras, belief (no matter what you call it) in something bigger than themselves. Because this is just talk until it is shown by example. Our children were public school taught and we are VERY proud of the adults they have become. Be well from Canada 🇨🇦

It great seeing your son working along side you. Not only is he getting a strong start on having work ethics. You two are building memories that will last his life time. He's a great problem solver. Thinking outside the box, in the finial moments of falling that great oak tree. Which I hope you saved, so you can use it to cook over. You and your wife are doing a great job raising your sons. Keep up the good work. Blessings to you and your family

What a hard lil worker Elijah is, great kiddos you have. We used one of these shelters as a run in for our horses up in Alaska, with a few modifications we made it last 4 years. We put 4 purlins on top and two down each side, we used 1x4s, then over layed chicken wire and attached under the canvas, it withstood high winds, heavy snow and 7 horses bouncing around for quite some time. We had hoped to get 1 winter out of it but got 4 before we had to take it down.

Thanks for introducing musto Quictent; it sounds like a great way to have an extra carport or storage. I also commend both of you for allowing your sons to help whenever they can. Elijah gets a Big A for using that big ax for the first time! Can he now relate to the pioneers and log cabins he may have been reading about in history lessons? Parenting is hard and requires lots of patience which you guys seem to have in abundance. Blessing on you all.

Hi Sam Angela Elijah and Isaac. Please tell Elijah that the whole of Scotland is very proud of him. He is such a mini Sam. whereas Isaac is more a mini Angela. Elijah works so hard and is such a lovely young man. Isaac is more fun loving and very imaginative in his play. You have certainly set a great example for other families to follow. I am 64 and was lucky enough to grow up in a time where we could run for hours outside to play in fields and forests. It made me very resourceful and have a great respect for nature and all wildlife. God Bless you. Stay safe. Lots of love xxxx

The hubs was watching.....he has the same garage....When the building was up, first thing he said was "that kid can work!" Agreed...Elijah reminds us of our youngest. When she got home from school she was changed and outside with the horses or taking care of the grounds. Perfect! One less job I'd have to help with on my days off :) -- We put one of those temporary structures out by the garage in a clearing protected by trees. We get significant wind here and, although it took some damage over the months, it worked until we got the new garage built. (PS....to this day our youngest hates housework.....but....she's certified to fix anything with wheels. Handy, yes?)

I use 4x4"s length wise to lag to, drill thru 4x4's and drive 2' pieces of rebar into the ground. Finnish off with a couple of inches of gravel, High and dry, and wind resistant. Good way to have inexpensive cover and storage. Nice job

So proud of Elijah. He's such a great kid. By the way, while you folks are gone from your new homestead, you need to have some type of security there. We know a couple who had their stuff stolen because they were not around their stuff. They are now getting some sort of security system.
