Our First cruise on MSC Virtuosa | Embarkation Day | May 2023

Hello and welcome back to a new vlog series.
It’s my birthday weekend and Ian has treated us all to a mini 3 night cruise aboard MSC Virtuosa 🙌
Join us on embarkation day where we give you our initial thoughts.

We will be on the ship June 17, 2023 on a 7 day cruise. It is fully booked as well- and honestly, after seeing everyone in your video. I'm a little nervou with so many people on board. Curious what your experience level (Bella, Fantastica or Aurea) did you guys get? This is our first cruise with MSC and only our second so far- the other being Celebrity Beyond. Thank you for posting the video and all your hard work you put in. It really helps all of us future cruisers. Also how was the weather?

Hi. Oh I’m surprised to hear a June sailing is full. I would have thought that would be perfect time for a quieter cruise. I think it all comes down to timing so a few tips.. make note when you’re changing time zone. This caught us out and we ended up at breakfast at the same time as everyone else! If you want to use the arcade don’t wait til the last day. We were in fantastica xx

Was on this ship last October for a week, Southampton, down to France, then Spain. Phenomenal cruise. So good in fact, that we're going again this October. Great ship, great facilities, great cabin crew. Just great. Brilliant vlog guys

Can i ask... in cabin do they supply slipoers, towels, and food wise do they have containers for you to take some food to eat away from the restaurant? Thsnk you.. great video... im going on 26 aug to norway... very nervous😮

Ah thank you. No slippers in the cabin but you do all get a pool towel and then the usual towels. We found that housekeeping didn’t change the pool towel though but you could swap them up by the pool for a clean one. I’m not sure if there were containers. We took a plate with a plate on top back to the room. I did see someone ask for a pizza box and they were told they were for delivery pizzas only. Oh you will have an amazing time. Norway too. Will be beautiful. Xx

Bit of both I think. I did see people at the bar but I know that people have commented in forums about table service. We didn’t drink from any of them so can’t 100% confirm x

Can I ask how you ended up with a 9:45pm dinner seating?

The option was early or late dinner. We went with late thinking it would be about 8:30pm. You don’t find out the time until you are given your cruise card. X

I only took a quick glance (should have recorded it) I don’t know think it was overly kid friendly but I do have fussy kids. I think a lot of fish. Maybe a pasta and burger. X

Did they have midnight buffet everyday? Was it a full buffet?

The kids think it was just desserts such as cookies, fruit and pizza. But they weren’t looking for anything else so could be more. X

No. The ship was full so I heard there was no movement when it came to changing times. I doubt there would have been many people who would choose a 9:45 sitting 😬

Where you queuing to drop bags off at the start of the video?

Yes this was the queue to drop bags off then you join the security queue then upstairs for check in. It’s just one long line that you follow. X

TACKY. red wine with chicken, loud in the corridors at nearly midnight, opening both doors so it whistles right down the corridor waking people. thank goodness i always use the Yacht Club.

I would never do a 3 nighter on msc they are renowned booze cruises and queues everywhere just not my thing. Great vlog though

It certainty was this! With only the 4 days off and my birthday on the Saturday the timing of this cruise was perfect. We still had a great time. I’m just glad we don’t drink so avoided the bar queues 😃

I can’t fault MSC and the crew to be honest. There was just something missing and I can’t put my finger on it x
